Project 1: Inspiring design thinking
Students do not really seem to know much about I&E especially in their first two years at university. This is why we decided to work on promoting design thinking.
Strategy #1: Making a University Photobook
Our main project is to make a photobook for our campus containing pictures of all the students. This way, students will get to know every other student in the faculty. In this book, a "prize list" will be integrated. It contains all the prizes and competitions the students participated in during the year. Students will then get an idea about the different types of competitions available inside and outside the campus and learn how other student managed to participate and win in these competitions.This will motivate more students to keep on participating in every opportunity and level up their I&E mindsets.
This project is set to be completed before january 2018.
Strategy #2: Organizing campus meetups between students, faculty members and engineers who pursued entrepreneurship.
Empowing students to innovate and pursue their goals is essential, and one way to achieve this outcome is by letting them learn and get advice from others who have already made it. This is why we have decided to plan and organize frequent meetups with important entrepreneurs inside the campus.
Strategy #3: Mentoring other students on-campus on the University Innovation Fellows program
Participation in the program is a long-term plan for our university. Meeting potential fellows at university is essential in order to motivate them to join the program and keep the momentum going in our campus. This way, they will have the opportunity to benefit from our already established experience with the program.
Our long term changemaking goals will require other fellows to continue the process of developing and executing them.
Project 2: Innovating the Campus
Strategy #1: Drinkable Water
Making the water drinkable at university and bringing it closer to the students is one of our long term projects. Water is essential for the well-being of students during their long university hours, and many students overlook it because the cafeteria is far and drinkable water costs money.
- Filtering tap water: Filtering tap water is a low-cost solution to attain our goal.
- Instaling containers: Installing main containers to store drinkable water is our second solution to distribute water to different areas of the campus
- Installing taps in classrooms: To bring water closer to students and push them to drink more, distributing drinkable water into taps intstalled in classroms woud be the third part of this project.
