Overview
The Cleantech Open is a not-for-profit organization that runs the world’s largest accelerator for cleantech start-ups. Since the founding in 2005 by leaders in Silicon Valley and Boston, this organization has established itself as the leading force for accelerating clean technology entrepreneurs.
Purpose
The mission is to find, fund and foster entrepreneurs with big ideas that address today’s most urgent energy, environmental and economic challenges.
Distinct Differences from Other Offerings
A large focus is put on the entrepreneurs themselves. At Cleantech open there is a belief that it is the entrepreneurs who are the biggest drivers of innovation. Its their belief that its ultimatley they will be the source of the solutions to many of the big problems we face and its one of Cleantech Opens goals to help get them out in the open and empowered.
Another key difference is their focus on clean renewable technology. They believe that clean tech will have some of the biggest and most positive impacts on the world.
Steps Required to Bring Resource to Campus
To become involved the main methods are to attend their events or take part in their programs.
