Overview

Marquette University is a Catholic, Jesuit university located near the heart of downtown Milwaukee, Wis., that offers a comprehensive range of majors in 11 nationally and internationally recognized colleges and schools. A Marquette education offers students a virtually unlimited number of paths and destinations and prepares them for the world by asking them to think critically about it. Marquette asks one thing of every student: Be The Difference. 

The school environment fosters a culture of relationship building, learning, and innovation. In fact, in 2015 our university President Michael Lovell awarded over fivemillion dollars across the university for the University’s innovation related proposals for students.

Student Entrepreneurship

The Kohler Center for Entrepreneurship

Part of the university’s new Office of Research and Innovation, the Kohler Center is a hub for fostering new ventures, encouraging innovation and creative cross-collaboration between students, faculty and staff from each of Marquette’s 12 colleges and schools, engaging them through: mentoring, community partnerships, pitch competitions, workshops, speakers and free office-space. At the Kohler Center, Innovation is more than an outcome. It is a philosophy highly influenced by its environment. We have been going above and beyond to develop an atmosphere of creative play, interdisciplinary collaboration, and iterative problem-solving.

Innovation and Entrepreneurship Major/Minor

The Innovation and Entrepreneurship program guides students along their individual paths to launching ventures, engaging with all the dimensions of business. Graduates are therefore prepared for better understanding the big picture of corporations that employ them, for professional services and investments with new firms and of course for venture starts.
