at Smith College studying architecture. While at Smith, she is the house
president of Haven-Wesley, where she organizes house events to foster a strong house community. This year she is researching the use of design thinking in cartography. Originally from the Bay Area, Amanda was in Durham for the summer, interning at the North Carolina Museum of Art and also an architecture firm. Amanda appreciates the way design thinking and human-centered design has complemented her studies in architecture, and hopes to implement it into future designs. In her free time, Amanda likes to bake, and boasts that she can make the best lemon bar around. An email enthusiast, you can reach her at alavond@smith.edu.
