Brad Turner is a senior Software Engineering student at Michigan Technological Universityand a University Innovation Fellow from the Fall 2014 cohort. He is originally from a smaller town in lower Michigan, growing up just outside of Bay City. As far as he can remember, he has always been involved in the community and giving back.

As a University Innovation Fellow, he discovered a way to combine his love of giving back to the community, with creativity and design. On campus he has worked on creating a student organization that is focused on creating agents of change by using creativity and design thinking, helped launch a new makerspace, and planned and facilitated events on campus with the Innovation Center for Entrepreneurship.

His experiences as a summer leadership camp counselor and Orientation Team Leader have expanded his passion for working with students and creating meaningful activities and events. These events include, but are not limited to, #uifresh activities during orientation, a makerspace design thinking session, and many smaller in-class workshops.

Outside of Michigan Tech he has worked at Epic as a Software Engineering Intern and spent his past summer at Handshake as a Product Design Intern working on democratizing career opportunities for current college students and recent graduates.

When not in class, you can normally find him exploring the beautiful scenery in the Keweenaw Peninsula with his camera, obsessing over Harry Potter, trying to learn some new skill, or just hanging out with friends.
