About Tara

Tara Maestas is a freshman studying Biochemical Engineering at Colorado School of Mines from Albuquerque, New Mexico. Taking on many leadership roles through high school and finding that very fine line of how much one person can handle while staying balanced, Tara found that she is passionate about learning and creating adventures. After family hardships, Tara decided to spread Mental Illness Awareness and promote physical health. When she is not studying or participating in soccer, archery, or school clubs, she volunteers at elementary schools and develops recycling programs.
