Joel Cazares is a University Innovation Fellow from the Fall 2015 cohort.  He is an industrial engineering and foreign languages

New Mexico State University.  He was born and raised in Hatch, New Mexico.  Joel is very passionate about STEM education and is always looking for ways to excite and motivate high-school students to pursue a degree in engineering.  He is a student assistant for the College of Engineering and helps with the college’s outreach programs, which include two robotics competitions and multiple summer camps. 

Joel has been the president of the NMSU Associated General Contractors and has been a part of the NMSU Bidding Competition Team.  He is a member of the NMSU Institute of Industrial Engineers and is representing the IE department as a Student Ambassador.  On his free time, Joel likes to spend time with friends and family, read, and on occasion play his guitar.
