PRIORITY 1: Promote a culture of student, faculty, and staff involvement in innovation and entrepreneurship
GOAL 1.0: Recruit and develop and increased number and diversity of students who graduate at higher rates and are equipped to succeed in their careers
Objectives:
'1.1' Increase support services to aid in the preparation of graduates for employment, graduate and professional schools, and entrepreneurship
Directions:
1.1.1 Enhance internships, externship, coop and experiential learning program opportunities
1. 1.2 Develop more employer outreach and partnerships by academic program focus
1.1.3 Maintain and strengthen partnerships with companies at the cutting edge of innovation in the market place
1.1.4 Increase interdisciplinary collaborations
1.1.4 Continue flourishing the Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship to facilitate student placement in internships, externship, coop programs and to assess student growth/development resulting from these activities
1.2 Implement new and innovative academic programs, effective pedagogies and redesigned and/or new courses to develop students with skills necessary for innovation and growth as entrepreneurs
Directions:
1.2.1 Establish campus-wide courses and programs to ensure students and faculty can participate in the commercialization of funded research
1.2.2 Special Topics lectures on success stories e.g, “From Lab Bench to Commercialization”, “The role of ,
Leadership in Commercialization”, “Balancing work and personal life”
1.2.3 Workshops on, applying for a patent, copyright, trademark, etc.
1.2.4 Workshops on proposal writing SBIR and STTR
1.2.5 Courses based on case studies of entrepreneurial successes
1.26 Establish a monthly forum to involve local inventors/innovators with CAU students and faculty to exchange ideas and establish partnership
1.2.7 Establish multi-disciplinary course in innovation and entrepreneurship for sophomores in all majors
1.2.8 Establish an independent study course (upper level and graduate) for students who are developing a small business
1.2.9 Establish multi-disciplinary course in innovation and entrepreneurship for graduate students
1.2.10 Workshops for community
1.211 Establish a network of mentors from alumni, BOT and other stakeholders
1.3 Establish Innovation and Entrepreneurship Space

PRIORITY 2: DISTINCTIVE ACADEMIC, RESEARCH, AND STUDENT SUPPORT PROGRAMS
GOAL 2.0: Develop and enhance academic, research, and support programs recognized for their distinctiveness, innovation, and ability to prepare graduates sought after by employers and entrepreneurial community as well as graduate and professional schools.
2.1 Implement a University-wide marketing plan
Directions:
2.1.1 Upgrade the University’s website design and content to include specific information on Technology Transfer and to feature innovation and entrepreneurshipon campus and in the community
2.1.2 Improve internal/external communications about capabilities, opportunities and resources available at CAU to support research, innovation and entrepreneurship.
2.1.3 Redefine and establish the University-wide Centers of Excellence to include interdisciplinary programs in innovation and entrepreneurship
2.1.4 Engage CAU faculty and students in community innovation and entrepreneurship projects (Especially in K-12 schools)
2.5 Enhance research and sponsored programs infrastructure

2.5.1 Implement technology transfer program
2.5.2 Establish instrument support facilities
PRIORITY 3: INCREASED EXTERNAL SUPPORT
GOAL 3.0: Increase and diversify University revenue streams through expanded external financial partnerships and support, entrepreneurial programs, and a broadened base of funded research grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements.
3.1 Increase entrepreneurial collaboration to leverage synergistic activities and funding opportunities
Directions:
3.2.1 Create and implement an entrepreneurial program to include Economic Development Center 3.2.2 Expand the recognition and support of entrepreneurship highlighting alumni, faculty and students
3.3 Implement School and academic program level for increasing the amount of external support with specific targets and metrics
Directions:
3.3.1 Initiate focused outreach activities at School and academic program level with relevant corporate and community initiatives
3.3.2 Expand cooperative agreements with corporate and government entities for continuing education
3.3.3 Provide support for faculty development to increase research and grantsmanship 3.3.4 Apply for grants to connect academics to campus sustainability programs; science education, entrepreneurial and innovation; mental health; homeland security, environmental justice; renewal energy etc.
