<span style="font-size:medium;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">&nbsp; Jaime Arribas Starkey-El is currently a junior Engineering Physics honor student at Morgan State University. He is the president of the Society of Physics Students (SPS) and an active member of several honor societies. He is also a member of the Honda All-Star college bowl team at Morgan. Jaime has spent a significant amount of time doing Physics research in the Dixon lab at Morgan, researching topological insulators and assisting in the development of novel magnetic metal oxide thin films for magnetic device applications. During an internship at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, Jaime created a bonding test to measure the static force behavior of epoxy bonds in satellite modules in order to determine optics distortion. As a result of his diligent work, Jaime had his internship extended and was nominated as a NASA student ambassador.</span></span>

At the White House, he had the honor of serving as the only student panelist for a maker event in which he offered his perspectives on changing innovation culture. He believes innovation is the direct outcome of the freedom and opportunity to experiment. Therefore he has been advocating for a student innovation center to foster creativity and give students drive and motivation, domains in which many of them are malnourished.</span>&nbsp;

  Jaime Arribas Starkey-El is currently a senior Physics and Engineering Physics double major at Morgan State University. During his time at Morgan he has served as the President of the Society of Physics Students, a member of the quiz bowl team, a NASA student ambassador, board member for the entrepreneurship society, and a National Innovation Fellow. Jaime has a strong passion for the possibilities of creativity.
