Bio

Nicole Watts is a student at Central Michigan University studying Marketing: Professional Sales with a minor in Intergroup Relations and Justice. She was born and raised in Novi, Michigan, about 30 minutes from Detroit. Growing up in a Kenyan-American household, she has always been taught to be proud of her background and to never let that be a barrier to developing yourself.

From an early age, Nicole has had a passion for giving back to her community and supporting those who need it the most. Her first exposure was from being part of Girl Scouts in the 3rd grade, where she volunteered at soup kitchens, clothing drives, and organized a hygiene donation initiative within her hometown. As she entered high school, she had the privilege of volunteering at HAVEN Women's Shelter in Pontiac, Michigan, where she conducted events for survivors, workshops, and marketing initiatives to educate teens and young adults on domestic violence.

As she entered college, she is currently a member of Pi Sigma Epsilon, a co-ed Marketing and Sales Management Fraternity, where she has taken part in multiple sales competitions across the United States. She also serves as a Sales Coach, where she mentors underclassmen on how to be proficient in sales roleplays.

Some other involvements that Nicole is a part of include being the Community Outreach Chair for Inner City Inclusion, a non-profit dedicated in supporting supporting students in Detroit to succeed in pursuing higher education. She is also a mentor for an introductory business class to help freshman and transfer students be successful within the College of Business. Additionally, Nicole is a part of the Sexual Agression Peer Advocate team that's dedicated to supporting survivors at CMU, and is an Engagement Coordinator for her dormitory, which focuses on implementing Diversity and Inclusivity for all 300+ of her residents through events and individual support.

After having an amazing support system throughout her life. Nicole is very excited to be part of a program that can allow her to do the very same thing for current and future students at Central Michigan University.
