Having the influence of such great entrepreneurial corporations around us is not enough to implement our own ideas as students without the necessary materials, mentors and an area to foster creativity. Therefore, the The UIF Leadership Circle of Menlo College looks forward is dedicated to identifying the bridging these gaps in our ecosystem, which need ensuring that our students have access to the resources, mentors, and creative spaces necessary to strengthen thrive in order for Menlo College students to fully embrace the world of entrepreneurship and innovation.
== Student Entrepreneurship & Innovation on Campus==
In terms of academics, Menlo College offers its students are passionate about entrepreneurship and innovation; except, there are only minimal assets for them the opportunity to utilize on campus. Entrepreneurship is offered as a major for those pursuing a business degree and is a growing major at Menlo Collegeminor in Entrepreneurship & Innovation. The large presence of clubs Entrepreneurship program focuses on campus gives students the extracurricular opportunities to explore their areas building student's understanding of interestdesign thinking, such as the Pioneer Club, an organization strictly designed for entrepreneurs and creative thinkers alike. Menlo College Office of Career Services hosts a number of career-orientated workshops, such as how ability to create a cover letter produce effective business plans and resume workshop to learning how to set up a Linkedin profile; these are just a few of the events Menlo College offers to support entrepreneurship in sharpens their students. In addition, this was the first year Menlo participated in the Hult Prize competition, a start-up accelerator for social entrepreneurship. With the success of this competition, Menlo College is looking to expand on-campus challengespublic speaking and oral communication skills.
To facilitate hands-on exploration and innovation in the field of entrepreneurship, Menlo College offers studentsaccess to the state-of-the-art Innovation Center. This specialized facility is designed to serve as an ideal place for design thinking projects. Within its walls, with students delve into the support practical aspects of business and prototyping, benefiting from a wealth of facultycutting-edge resources, have organized three successful Startup weekends. In November 2020including 3D printers, Menlo hosteda laser cutter, virtuallysewing machines, Startup Weekend Silicon Valley Womxnand more. Through a series of our faculty members are not only professorscareer-oriented workshops, they have either experienced in the world of business or students are currently in the workforceempowered with essential skills and knowledge.  Many professors share their entrepreneurial experiences in classThese workshops cover a spectrum of topics, whether it is indirect or directly tied ranging from crafting persuasive cover letters and resumes to entrepreneurshipmastering the art of creating a compelling LinkedIn profile.  These events underscore Menlo College students are grateful 's dedication to be backed by administration and faculty, who see the potential and need for expansion into nurturing a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation on campus career readiness among its student body.
 In a significant stride towards promoting entrepreneurship and social innovation, Menlo College made its debut in the Hult Prize competition in the recent academic year. This global startup accelerator, focused on social entrepreneurship, marked an exciting milestone for the institution. Following the success of its participation, Menlo College is actively exploring opportunities to expand its on-campus entrepreneurial challenges, fostering a culture of innovation and impact. Furthermore, Menlo College takes pride in its unique Living Learning Dorm for Creativity and Innovation, which provides students with a vibrant and collaborative living environment that nurtures entrepreneurial thinking and creativity.  The entrepreneurial spirit at Menlo College is further exemplified by active student clubs like OIC (Oak's Innovation Club) and E&I (Entrepreneurship & Innovation), which serve as platforms for students to network, collaborate, and further their entrepreneurial pursuits. Moreover, Menlo College students, with the support and mentorship of faculty, have successfully organized three impactful Startup Weekends. Notably, in November 2020, Menlo College hosted the virtual Startup Weekend Silicon Valley Womxn, drawing participation from a diverse group of over 100 enthusiastic attendees. UltimatelyTo further encourage innovation, this deprives our faculty actively participates in initiatives like the Conrad Challenge, igniting the spark of innovation among our students from pursuing their innovative business ideas as well as learning the steps to fully develop their ideas.

The economic development in the surrounding areas of campus have shown a strong trend of growth in the past 5 years but there's low accesibility for students to take advantage and get involved. Menlo College finds itself as an institution is now playing catch up in comparison to surrounding organizations. Menlo College can be doing a lot more in unique position, with limited regional and local economic development, potentially stemming from the aspect absence of connecting students to more resources in the area, whether that be for conferences, lectures, company tours, etc. The focus on secured employment and internships a dedicated entrepreneurship department or leader on our campus is beginning to overshadow the school's original entrepreneurial potential. As University Innovation Fellows it's our responsibility This void has led to remind the school a lack of it's origins awareness regarding entrepreneurship and innovation among our student body, ultimately hindering their ability to pursue innovative mentalitybusiness ideas and develop them to their full potential.
