1000 Pitches is an entrepreneurial competition started by the its founders, Ashwin L. and Israel V. They saw what great ideas were coming developing out of the Bay Area (2007) and realized that if the University of Michigan wanted to keep up with the entrepreneurial methods, they would have to bring their ideas back to Ann Arbor, Michigan. Soon afterthis realization, they Ashwin and Israel created a student organization called MPowered Entrepreneurship and the , as a student group then came up with , generated an event called 1000 Pitches.
The idea of the event is to get students to "Pitch" his or her idea in a short clip on the internet and then winners were elected in each of the categories on certain days. It's a really neat idea on bringing innovation to their campus and since it is in their 6th year, they have done very well.
