Bio

Brittney Johnson is the Library Curriculum and Instruction Developer at St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas. In this role, she develops (as well as teaches) programmatic curriculum for information literacy that integrates into the general education curriculum, as well as research- and writing-centric courses. Brittney also teaches undergraduate courses at St. Edward's and most recently has taught Education, Capstone, and Honors research courses.

In her previous work as the Digital Literacy Program Coordinator at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, Brittney developed curriculum for and coordinated a micro-credentialing program that is embedded within the library's technology spaces (x-reality and video/audio recording studios; GIS, Digital Design, and Makers spaces).

Brittney's educational background in Cognitive Science and Education, as well as her past experiences teaching in the K-12 environment, enable her to apply a deep understanding of how people learn in the development of instruction and in her teaching. Brittney holds a M.S. in Cognitive Science, a MAT in Elementary Education, and is in the dissertation phase of her PhD program in Curriculum, Instruction, and the Science of Learning.
