'''About Tara ('s UIF)Journey: '''
Tara has helped to bridge the gap of communication between students and faculty/staff on campus. Herself and the other awesome fellows have taken many leaps at MSOE. They have... 1) Hosted design thinking workshops open to all students and plan to run similar workshops with faculty/staff and senior design groups 2) Revamped the study rooms in the residence halls to include whiteboards and other commodities conducive to studying and collaboration 3) Are in the midst of planning Revamped MSOE's Welcome Week to be #uifresh for Welcome Week where everyday the incoming freshman will getgot ''stoked ''to learn about their campus and 4) Participated in the Festival of Big Ideas with an Ignite Talk centered around both sides of sexual assault (very important topic in college!). They plan to... 1 5) Collaborate with UW-Milwaukee fellows to bring TedX to the MIlwaukee Community 2) Host Hosted an MSOE Faculty Fair where students can network with faculty both in and out of their department 3) Create a "Before I die..._____" wall and 46) Create Hosted a Big Wall of Opportunity where students can share their passions to collaborate on projects outside of school.Milwaukee regional meetup!
'''About Tara (general):'''
Hey, I'm Tara Rahmani is a Junior Industrial Engineering and User Experience student at . :) Life has been pretty wild. Expect the Milwaukee School unexpected, that type of Engineering (MSOE)wild. She wants Since leaving high school, I've been chasing my tail trying to figure out what I want to do, who I want to be an Industrial Engineer in the healthcare industry, preferably etc etc and all that jazz. UIF played a big part in that. Being apart of a hospital, community full of designers all leading with love has been a priceless opportunity. Design thinking really re-designed my life. And then God came into the goal of decreasing picture around age 25 and I did the number of medical errors per yearbest 180 in life. I no longer felt lost, knowing my identity in Him and walking in His unmovable peace. TLDR; She gets excited about innovation God's love and opportunities to be creative -- especially when in the realm of human-centered UIF's empathetic designhave really shaped my life wonderfully. I could gush for a long time about these topics, so just hit me up via email/call/text if you wanna chat.:)
Tara has been I get excited about innovation and opportunities to be creative -- especially when in the realm of human-centered design #uiforbust. During my time at MSOE, I was heavily involved with the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) since the end of her freshman year. She held the position of as an Outreach Chair her sophomore year Coordinator, and hosted events such as Hands-On Futureeventually President, Siblings in STEM, and various other hosting STEAM events with different classes from Milwaukee area schools kids K-12 and Girl Scout Troopscollege students. Her junior I spent my last year she became section president. Tara's goal of school as President of this section was a Resident Assistant to continuously improve the already exemplary SWE section 35 lovely humans and really enjoyed getting to expand their outreach to all grades, K-12, know these individuals and to more MSOE studentswatch them grow. This Junior & Senior year, she began a mentoring UIF really became the pinnacle of my college career - this program for their members called SWE Women In Mentoring (SWIM)is THAT cool. From leading dance workshops to facilitating design thinking workshops to hosting Freshman Welcome Week... It allows the current officers possibilites are endless with UIF and professional engineers in Wisconsin to act as mentors to the general membersdesign thinking mindset, whether it be in their academic, professional, or personal lifeall leading with empathy.
Tara About me personally, I like to jam a lot to different music - one of my favorite parts of the meetup is asking people what their favorite songs are from all around the world. I also an advisor for like to dance - whether it's in the first SWE Next section in kitchen or on the state of Wisconsin at South Milwaukee High School. SWE Next is dance floor - I always got a SWE section for middle and high school studentslittle boogie in me. She is acting as a mentor for the members I enjoy meeting new people (especially fellows <3) and helping them plan events such as plant tours and hands-on workshopshearing about their lives, especially when it's over shared food.#foodie
Aside from SWE, Tara is a member of Lambda Zeta Nu sorority at MSOE. She has held the position of Educational Chair and Treasurer. LZN’s pillars are to focus on philanthropy, specifically breast cancer awareness, and education. Also, she is now the Parliamentarian for Student Government. Her duties are to facilitate meetings while also contributing and advocating to the conversation around what the students on campus want and need.<br />
