Her background is in technical communications communication and working with engineers to create technical white papers. She also was awarded a writing journalism fellowship with SalonMedia Group. She LaRissa is very active in the community building and entrepreneurship . She was a Venture for America Fellow and communications communities in Wichita, she now regularly volunteers as a Venture for America Alumni.
