Stephane was born in Kyoto, Japan, and spent his school years there until he was 18. Ever since he was a child, he loved science and would like to become a scientist. Among the sciences, he was particularly interested in physics and entered the Department of Physics at Tohoku University in eastern Japan to study it. He found research very interesting and went straight to the graduate school to obtain his Ph. D.

 After getting Ph. D. in science, Stephane started his carrier as an assistant professor in the Department of Physics at Tohoku University. His main work was the research on material sciences, but in addition to that, he was also engaged in an educational program aimed at "fostering doctoral students who will be active in companies in the future". In that program, he was mentoring students, planning and managing educational content. Since 2020, he has been participating in a program to foster an entrepreneurial mindset among students and faculty and developed some educational programs in collaboration with overseas universities.
