This includes majors that allow students to have more flexibility to choose elective classes that interest them. As well as, many majors offer supervised research for credit and capstone courses that enable students to focus on research and innovation within their areas of interest alongside faculty and ~~entrepreneurship: <span style="font-family: Arial; background-color: transparent; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; vertical~~community members. Still, there are a large number of majors that lack flexibility and innovation opportunities. Faculty also have a similar organization known as Faculty Senate that serves to voice their opinions and entrepreneurship: Many undergraduate students ideate improve their experience. However, ~~or class as the~~ UNO students ~~take~~ and faculty are able to use the ~~wheel in the process~~ University of ~~successfully creating change in some meaningful way~~Nebraska Medicine’s UNeMed technology transfer office due to the partial integration of the two campuses. ~~For example, the student government is coached by staff~~UNeMed manages intellectual property and invention notification services for UNO. New barriers, ~~pushing them~~ like COVID-19 have continued to ~~implement positive change on campus~~stall the development of a technology transfer center at UNO. ~~Faculty~~ ==Facilitating university-industry collaboration==There are many creative spaces surrounding UNO that are ~~also supported by administration with access~~ open to ~~specialized workshops~~the public for collaborating and practicing I&E skills. UNO’s Community Engagement Center (CEC) houses community nonprofits, ~~seminars~~organizations, and ~~community connections by different academies~~businesses to provide a space for students to creatively make a difference in the community. The ~~Center for Faculty Excellence exists to support UNO faculty through instructional assistance~~CEC also houses the Student Services and Leadership Collaborative which hires student workers who organize community outreach initiatives. UNO has always been greatly involved with the local community via events, fundraising, partnerships, and other initiatives. UNO is a great helper in the field of community service in strengthening our bonds with the surrounding community in hopes of improving our economic support.
