I think that this Agricultural Innovation Prize is super interesting and could be very applicable to my school, Elon University. Alamance County is a food desert, with very minimal places for people find access to cheap, healthy meals. When I worked with the Village Project here at Elon to tutor kids, a big focus was to teach them how to budget their money to buy healthy food options. With the agricultural land Elon has, I think this innovation prize could really help Elon expand upon helping the community around us.

a good step on time

Turkey is a superior agricultural zone in the world in its geopolitical position. That's why agriculture is a crucial issue for the country. We need some policies to gather all stakeholders. Last year Bayer started a program like a prize. It shows that something is going to be changed. Even the private sector do something to create solutions, governments must take actions to enhance the system.

Great opportunity

I have recognized the serious need of addressing the food ecosystem since, on one hand, Japan wastes a huge amount of food from households and on the other hand, the wasted food pollutes the environment and there are numerous amounts of people who are suffering from hunger. Having this opportunity will encourage Japanese students to recognize the seriousness of food waste in Japan and its effect.
