Her college experience has drawn her to the world of nonprofits where she is able to work directly with the community and effectively advocate for public change. Some of the most notable issues that she advocates for include: immigration, healthcare, education and human rights.

She has also had the privilege of co-founding is eager to be able to work with community leaders and advocate for policy that fits the Association need of Latino Professional For America (ALPFA) Chapter at UNOall Nebraskans. As she gets closer ==What is my "Why?"=="My "why" is to graduation, Marissa hopes that she can continue empower others to support first generation college students as well as low-income families believe in their own abilities and students to set themselves up for success. I was lucky enough to have mentors in my life who are unable pushed me to get out of my comfort zone and apply to obtain the necessary resources as many opportunities that would present themselves to advance in societyme. Her long-term goal is The guidance of my mentors showed me that there were no limits to the kinds of goals I could have whether that meant saying I would run for Mayor in Omaha or open her my own nonprofit . Each time they would present me with a new opportunity that would take on could lead me to my goals. Knowing that I am a first generation college student I want to be there to support students who aren't sure of what they want to do or whether they are making the issue of Recidivism, where prisoners right decisions.
