|}Marissa Morales is a first-generation college student at the University of Nebraska-Omaha where she is double majoring in ''Political Science'' and ''Sociology'' as well as minoring in ''Latin American/Latino/Chicano Studies'' and ''Nonprofit Management''. Her college experience has drawn her to the world of nonprofits where she is able to work directly with the community and effectively advocate for public change. Some of the most notable issues that she advocates for include: immigration, healthcare, education and human rights.
==Bio==Marissa Morales is a first-generation college student at At the University of Nebraska-Omaha where she , Marissa is double majoring heavily involved and holds positions in ''Political Science'' and ''a variety of organizations. She is the secretary of the Alpha Kappa Delta International Sociology'' as well as minoring in ''Latin American/Latino/Chicano Studies'' and ''Nonprofit Management''Honors Society. Her college experience has drawn her to She also had the privilege of co-founding the world Association of Latino Professional For America (ALPFA) Chapter at UNO with one of nonprofits her closest friends. And just recently Marissa was elected into Student Government where she is able to work directly with serves as the community Arts and effectively advocate Sciences Senator and the Chair for public change. In 2020, Marissa began her internship within the Health Care Access and the Economic Justice Programs at Nebraska Appleseed. She is eager to be able to work with community leaders and advocate for policy that fits the need of all Nebraskans. As Marissa gets closer to graduation, her goal is to get her master's in public Administration or urban Studies and continue to work locally.
At the University of Nebraska-Omaha, Marissa has held leadership positions ==What is my "Why?"=="My "why" is to empower others to believe in Lambda Theta Nu Sorority, Inctheir own abilities and to set themselves up for success., I was lucky enough to have mentors in my life who pushed me to get out of my comfort zone and apply to as the Multicultural Greek Council Representative and Social Chairmany opportunities that would present themselves to me. She has also had the privilege The guidance of co-founding my mentors showed me that there were no limits to the Association kinds of Latino Professional For America (ALPFA) Chapter at UNOgoals I could have whether that meant saying I would run for Mayor in Omaha or open my own nonprofit. And just recently Marissa was elected into Student Government where she serves as the Arts and Sciences SenatorEach time they would present me with a new opportunity that could lead me to my goals. As she gets closer to graduation, Marissa hopes Knowing that she can continue to support I am a first generation college students as well as low-income families and student I want to be there to support students who aren't sure of what they want to do or whether they are unable to obtain making the necessary resources right decisions. I believe everyone can do what they set their minds to advance in society.
