<span style="font-size:small;">Changemaker Hub</span>
<span style="font-size:small;">The Changemaker Hub is a resource for students on campus to actively learn and engage with social justice and social innovation on both a global scale and local scale. This The Changemaker Hub is a central location on campus that facilitates students getting involved within their communities as well as on and off campus. The Hub is also an Ashoka U certified organization on our campus that allows us and is dedicated to actively network with other universities around teaching students the globe passionate about social innovation. This resource provides education method and experience humanimportance of design-thinking. Every semester, there are a number of workshops put on centered around design-thinking, user testing, community engagemententrepreneurship, and much moreinnovation. One example of a design-thinking workshop is the LAUNCH program. LAUNCH is a six-week design thinking bootcamp put on by the Changemaker Hub every semester.&nbsp;</span>
<span style="font-size:small;">Initiatives on Campus&nbsp;</span>
<span style="font-size:small;"><span style="font-family:arialBecause the Changemaker Hub is so central to campus,helveticathere are a myriad of events that take place within it. Not only this,sans-serif;">Current initiatives but the Hub is working to collaborate with other clubs on our campus include to reach the student body even more. Pancake Peeps just recently merged with the Changemaker Hub in 2019. Pancake Peeps is a club that was started by a variety of events across multiple departments.&nbsp; Our dedicated student who was involved with the Changemaker Hub promotes social innovation , and entrepreneurship through Social Change Corpsis now an extremely popular program. Every Saturday, students carpool to Downtown, Changemaker Student CommitteeSan Diego, hosting a social innovation lab and promoting social innovation to incoming studentscook pancakes for the local homeless population.&nbsp;</span> <span style="background-color: transparent; whitefont-spacesize: pre-wrapsmall;">Our Career Development Center encourages Furthermore, Outdoor Adventures is a wide-reaching program on campus. Many students to go resonate with the love of being outdoors. Outdoor Adventures goes on frequent trips, as well as a “Torero Trek” which is an opportunity for retreat before the school year even starts. A lot of students begin to travel across feel really at home with the country to learn about career opportunities from innovative Outdoor Adventures community, and diverse businesses. In addition are able to departmental initiatives, students who have created their own bond with new friends in the outdoors!</span> <span style="font-size: small;">Other organizations on such as the Math Learning Center are really crucial to campus also promote and take part in social innovation and entrepreneurship. Some StudentThe peer-to-run organizations include: Net Impact Club, TEDx, and pancake peeps. These Organization along with many peer tutoring is especially helpful as students can more effectively help others go above when they have literally had the same professors and beyond to take action and hold events throughout sat in the year.same desks!</span> </spanstyle="font-size: small;">USD provides many opportunities for Entreprenuership through the Entrepreneurship Club and their events, as well as "Torero Treks" where students visit real, large companies and learn about what goes on there.&nbsp;</span>
=== Encouraging Faculty Innovation and Entrepreneurship ===
<span stylefont face="fontarial, helvetica, sans-serif" size:="2">Due to the nature of small;"class sizes, faculty and students are very closely connected. Most teachers know all or at least a majority of their students names. The smaller environment makes many students feel more comfortable and feel like they can approach their professors. In comparison, professors also feel closer to their students becuase they have such small class sizes. Professors make sure to offer their time in office hours regularly.</font> <span stylefont face="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">In addition, USD is currently implementing a strategic plan "Envisioning 2024". This strategic&nbsp;<span stylesize="background-color: transparent; white-space: pre-wrap;2">plan has been put in place to capitalizes Furthermore, because students and teachers are so close, many faculty on campus are passionate about helping students with their endeavours, whether these endeavours are academic or not. For example, work study students are given the university’s recent progress opportunity to work closely with faculty members and aligns new strategic goals with current strengths learn what it is like to help shape be in a vision for the future as the university looks ahead to its 75th anniversary in the year 2024business. Through this process we are analyzing how we can enhance student successFor instance, strengthen diversity, inclusion, and social justice, and improve other aspects of our campusstudents may participate in staff meetings. </span>&nbsp;</span></spanfont>
=== Actively Supporting The University Technology Transfer Function&nbsp; ===
Students at USD offers a wide range could be more closely integrated during Freshman Year. Due to the spread out locations of events on-campus dorms, many poeple struggle to meet others outside of their living area on campus. The freshman orientation includes many activities and opportunities for field trips where students from diverse backgrounds but we can still improve some aspects of our campusare randomly paired together, no matter where they live. We feel that we can re-imagine parts would love to facilitate more of the Freshmen Orientation experience so as these trips to accommodate bring opportunities for students all students better and ensure we are offering the most engaging and innovative opportunities our over campus has to offermeet each other&nbsp;
