Even though her main interest areas are Criminal Law and Human Rights, she is also interested in innovation and entrepreneurship. Her main motivation while deciding what major to study was law school could allow her to be the change of the world she wanted to see as a representative of justice. What she is doing now?: Trainee lawyer at a law firm named BTS+Partners.

What that means: She is graduated in May 2019 and started doing her year-long obligatory internship to be a certified attorney in Turkey.

Hazal earned her LLB (Bachelor of Laws) degree with International Relations minor and Global Learning and Leadership (GLLP) track from Koç University, Istanbul, Turkey. Being interested in innovation and entrepreneurship made her focus on Intellectual Property Law and Start-Up Law. Her main motivation while deciding what major to study was law school could allow her to be the change of the world she wanted to see as a representative of justice. This motivation also led her to be an innovator and coming up with ideas that would solve the inconveniences.

Her journey on I&E started while she were a high schooler in her hometown, Izmir. She is one of the first UIF cohort from her country, this is why she and her friend Ceren Kocaoğullar worked too hard to convince the university administration to fund another cohort. They conducted several campus events to increase the culture of cooperation and an awareness of mental wellbeing, as there is a strong culture of entrepreneurship and innovation at Koç. Their attempts got successful and the second UIFKOÇ fellows are joining the family soon! 

During 2017-2018 academic year, sheserved to Koç University Law Club as Vice-President on Academic Affairs. She had organized an international students symposium, and several workshops, seminars and field trips. Hazal also worked as a Co-President of a service learning program named Koç University Global Aid where people tried to address the most common global problems and find sustainable solutions, using design thinking methods.
