The Innovation and Entrepreneurship ecosystem at North Dakota State University could best be described as being in an incubation state. A workable amount of resources are present, with a number of key resources, tools, and programs at various stages of planning and implementation that will allow the campus environment to flourish.

There are a number of positive aspects to the campus that students can make use of.

Strategy 1: Build the Community First

Although events, programs, and resouirces are needed for an entprernerial community to flourish, they are not the most important part of the process. The most important part is the community, and we feel the community has not been given enough attention.

Strategy 2: Knock Down the Barriers

Lack of involement is often not a result of the program but the way it is presented. Students DO have ideas and unlimited potential but when applications look intimidating and require ltos of paperwork the students with the game chancing ideas are turned away. Our goal is to knock down the barriers to our existing oportunities for students to flourish in entr and innvoation.

Project 1: Rework Innovation Challenge

Innovtion Challenge is NDSU's biggest investment in entresrhip and innvoatin but very few students participate due to the intimiadating structure and business like format of the competitions. We want to remap the format of this competition to be simple, inviting, and idea based.
