Using input from across the country, the NAE identified 14 areas in need of engineering solutions in the 21st century. Within these 14 areas, the GCSP developed a combined, co-, and extra-curricular program that is intended to prepare the next generation of students to address the challenges within society. The GCSP is an outcomes-based program that is designed to inspire a movement within the participant's local ecosystem. The goal is to pilot innovative educational approaches for engineering students and encourage students to engage with a diverse group of their peers from across the globe to solve the challenges that are crucial for the survival of generations to come.
