Smith college.Yi is also a social entrepreneur, designer, and learning experience expert, and she is never satisfied with one hashtag only. She became a high school teacher while she was a high school student. She piloted the first service learning elective at the most selective school in Guangzhou, China and instructed 25 students to accomplish their projects. Prior starting college, she took a gap year and founded her studio YS prompting sustainable and socially-responsible fashion in China. Her mission-driven studio then transformed into a Design school where she aimed to empower migrant children (children of migrant factory workers lack of access to public education due to House Registration System) with mindsets and skill-sets to be fashion designers. Yi is great with creating toys, games and activities. She employees the lens of design and strategy to support organizations explore ideas, advance their capacity and enhance their impact. She has designed and facilitated ice-breaking, Hackathon, Design Thinking workshops for renowned organizations such as Asia Society, Harvard Leadership Summit, Harvard SEED social innovation camp, Clover Youth. The past summer, Yi was an intern at Ashoka working with Project Start Empathy.
