Nitya is currently a UIF fellow at Yale University, where she is pursuing her MBA and Masters in Public Health. She has built her career in the field of mental healthcare, with a focus on using technology to increase access to mental healthcare services for young people. She began her career as a researcher in Stanford's Behavioral Medicine Lab, and has published over 10 papers in peer-reviewed journals on topics like mobile phone apps for mental health, adapting treatments for global populations, and reducing the cost of public mental healthcare. During this time she founded Mana Maali, a non-profit dedicated to reducing stigma on college campuses in India and provided online mental health coaching to university students. Following her time in India, she has worked in startups to deliver mental healthcare at scale. She is currently working on another mental health startup, focused on providing technology to help college counseling centers manage increasing demand from students. She earned her bachelor's degree in Neuroscience from the University of Pennsylvania. She enjoys spending any spare time I have getting messy in nature with friends or throwing pizza-making parties.
