Gian R. Grob is a University Innovation Fellow and a Design Management student at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Hochschule Luzern, currently in the third year of his bachelor's degree. He is originally from Wattwil, SG, a small town near the mountains in eastern Switzerland. Gian's professional path began about 9 years ago with an apprenticeship as a draughtsman in structural engineering, after which he worked both on construction and as a designer for some years. Before starting off in Lucerne, Gian spent one year at the Zurich University of the Arts, ZHdK, which led him to move from the all-creative work experience more in the direction of management and business, where the Design Management program came into place. In this field, Gian mostly likes to dive into topics like Innovation Management, Service Design and Social Design, while the last of them aligns well with his interest in global problems and politics. This interest in particular regularly takes him to hubs of humanitarian crises such as refugee camps.

Since moving to Lucerne, Gian has always enjoyed the nature surrounding the city a lot and given nature is the place where he most likes to spend his free time. Hiking, skiing and horseback riding just to name a few sports. Apart from that, Gian's favourite leisure activities include going out for dinner or concerts and visiting cultural events and unusual places in Switzerland and around the globe.
