Lingnan University is new to the idea of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (I&E). Lingnan Entrepreneurship Initiative (LEI) is a platform newly established in at Lingnan University which aimed that aims to empower entrepreneurs, innovators, and inventors to take action for inclusive growth. However, students and faculty members may not pay attention to this platform , which may not be able to enrich the I&E ecosystem in the university. A 5-year campaign can be launched to improve the I&E ecosystem, including promotion and students student activities. Promotion The promotion has to be made to raise people 's awareness on of I&E in at Lingnan University, as well as enhancing enhance students' creativity and ideas for starting their own business businesses by organising organizing different activities.
<br ==Promotion and Student Activities 2024/>25== ====Eating More Green====Considering the various food options that exist at Lingnan University, and there are not any food sets offered with pure vegetables, we would like to set up a Green Gate that offers only vegetable sets with lower prices here. The steps that we planned are as follows: #Needs Assessment: Conduct surveys and focus groups to understand the specific needs and preferences of the student population regarding vegetarian meals.#Partnerships: Forming partnerships with local suppliers and vegetarian food brands to source high-quality ingredients at competitive prices.#Staff Training: Training canteen staff on preparing and handling vegetarian meals to ensure high standards of hygiene and quality.#Pilot Phase: Launch a pilot phase to test the Green Gate concept, gather feedback, and make necessary adjustments before a full-scale rollout.#Evaluation and Expansion: Regularly evaluating the success of the Green Gate through student feedback and sales data. Based on the evaluation, the initiative may be expanded to include more vegetarian options and additional services. The Green Gate at Lingnan University’s canteen represents a significant step towards creating a more inclusive and sustainable campus environment. By providing affordable and nutritious vegetarian meals, the university is catering to its students' diverse dietary needs and promoting a healthier and more environmentally conscious lifestyle. The initiative underscores Lingnan University’s commitment to diversity, inclusion, and sustainability. ====PeerConnect: A Campus-Based Tutoring and Support Platform for Academic and Financial Assistance====We observed that students often face difficulties in academic learning. For instance, when they have questions about the courses they are taking, they may want to ask for help but might not feel comfortable approaching professors at all times, and their peers may not always have the answers. Additionally, we recognized the financial challenges university students encounter on campus, as many are responsible for covering their daily expenses. To address these issues, we proposed the creation of an online platform that connects students with tutors, who are also students that have completed the course within the past two to three semesters. These student tutors would be required to provide their grades for the course they wish to teach, along with their name, major, and language proficiency. Students seeking tutoring would input their language preferences and the grades they hope to achieve (e.g. from B+ to A) before searching for a match. The platform would randomly pair students with tutors, and all sessions would be conducted on campus, preferably in designated classrooms. Each tutoring session would last 30 minutes. Students would be responsible for paying 50% of the class fee, while the remaining amount, if possible, would be sponsored by the Office of Student Affairs (OSA). We estimate the fees to be $80 for a 30-minute session for beginner courses and $100 for more intermediate and advanced courses. ====Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign====To raise the awareness of Lingnan University's female students about breast cancer and highlight the importance of early detection and prevention while creating a supportive environment in which Lingnan University's male students can contribute to it. The campaign aims to empower and educate female students and their knowledge about their health. It can encourage them to take proactive steps toward their health and build an environment where female students can feel comfortable and confident to discuss their health concerns and seek advice from others, society and the university, as it fosters a great sense of community engagement among young girls. It can enhance the leadership and participation of female students in their rights for health and well-being while achieving a developed community in which males play a crucial part in protecting female health and themselves. With the collaboration and involvement of students, the university can perform and promote the strong empowerment of female students towards their bright future in the society.  ====Accessibility of Sanitary Products====Until 2024, there are no convenience stores or markets within Lingnan University, meaning that if female students and staff need tampons or pads, they must walk to Fu Tai. While it is not that far, it can be inconvenient during urgent situations. In Hong Kong, it's still uncommon for public restrooms to provide sanitary products, which adds to the challenges many women face regarding menstrual health. This project explores options for providing sanitary products on campus to help ease period poverty. We are considering installing vending machines in female restrooms over the whole campus that would charge a small fee (HKD 0.5 - 1) for single-use products, with payments made via Octopus card to promote cashless transactions. The pilot trial would take place in the canteen floor bathroom as it is the most used bathroom by staff, students, and guests throughout the whole campus. We recognize the importance of accessibility to sanitary products and wish to generalize this initiative to ensure that at least one female bathroom in each building on campus is equipped with these vending machines. This will provide a more convenient solution for all female students and staff, addressing the urgent need for menstrual health resources across the university and society.

This means that instead of inviting culinary professionals of different cultural backgrounds to teach students, we will be inviting a local or international student/s to share a traditional or popular delicacy from their own country and talk about their career experiences as well as give a demonstration on how the working environment to make it in their own countries differs from that front of Hong Kongother students. ==== Opinion Booth on Canteen Menu ====
In order to improve the quality of meals for employees and students, we plan to launch a collection of offline and online opinions. The purpose is to integrate the collected opinions and communicate with the canteen company to modify the existing menu so that the variety and price of the menu are more suitable for the needs of employees and students. We hope to build such a communication platform to jointly improve the campus life experience of staff and students and to convey the collected views to the university's stakeholders.
==== Food Cards @ Lingnan ====
To tackle the low efficiency of food ordering in the Lingnan Canteen and eventually enhance the overall catering quality, we plan to implement a food card scheme in the canteen to say goodbye to long queues. We no longer need long waits to order tour meals and save you time by combining our Lingnan student id card with a money deposit function that may even allow us to have a new payment method around the whole campus. We hope that launching our food card will have more accessible repair contacts within the campus and increase our sense of belonging at school. No more worries that your Octopus deposit card couldn’t be reloaded on campus, your food card does!<br />
'''Survey with Lucky Draw via Mass Email'''[[File:Survey Poster.png|thumb|388x388px|Online Survey with Lucky Draw|link=Special:FilePath/Survey_Poster.png]]To understand students' needs in life planning support, we have conducted a survey mainly ask about their satisfaction in the current status, whether they have a dream and whether the school's resource is effective. The survey was sent to the whole school by '''Lingnan Entrepreneurship and Innovation (LEI)''' department on behalf of University Innovation Fellows (UIF). A lucky draw with ten HK$50 supermarket coupons was given as incentives for the students. We used the mass email as an opportunity to promote University Innovation Fellows and our mission as well. It also served as an educational purpose where students can reflect a bit about their lives before our official functions.
