 St. Edward's University is a Holy-Cross institution with a focus on liberal arts. As a former commuter school St. Edward's has some struggles with community, students often reserve themselves from collaborating with others, and branching out to new and different communities than are provided by their living situation, major, and other contexts. The school doesn't lack a foundation of I & E resources, but the reservation of students (in their time, comfortability with others, etc.) it is difficult to gain traction with these resources on campus.

The Innovation Fellowship and Center for Teaching Excellence offer similar grants to encourage new and innovative teaching methods.
