Maria Meschi is a first-year graduate student at the Herron School of Art + Design at IUPUI. She is studying Visual Communication Design, which emphasizes the value of people and their contexts in forming innovative, creative solutions as well as the ability of visuals to enhance communication for cross-disciplinary collaboration. 

Prior to returning to school to pursue her MFA, Maria worked in event management and communications.  She is a singer and comedienne, performing locally with theatre groups and ComedySportz Indianapolis.

Maria is interested in how design thinking education can be included for all students, from elementary school to university.  She believes that creating a culture of empathy and collaboration will ensure that future generations can thrive.
