Ben Shinogle is a junior at William Jewell College majoring in political science and English. He is also a dedicated coffee drinker, avid reader, and travel enthusiast. Ben is driven by  in the importance of engaging the William Jewell community in many differing lenses, and pursues this interest via his involvement as Treasurer of the Student Body, Vice-President of his fraternity, a representative of the office of the President at William Jewell, and a Fellow with the Pryor Leadership program. 

Ben holds that we have a responsibility to help others wherever possible, drawing from Kahlil Gibran's dictum, "The quest for comfort kills the passion of the soul." Consistent with this ideal, Ben will be spending this summer in Edinburgh, interning with a member of Scottish parliament to engage in comparative research between political systems in the US and Scotland. Here he hopes to leverage this research in promoting effective healthy change on campus and beyond.
