Startup Genome is a global platform that helps to nuture and maintain successful startup ecosystems. Using their public ecosystem research based on their startup partners, Startup Genome has designed a new Lifecycle Model to measure the performance and stages of companies. They help to categorize the four phases of a lifecycle:

*Activation
*Globalization
*Expansion
*Integration.

They specialize in tech start ups and have gained insights from over 10,000 companies, 300 organizations in over 50 cities world wide.

Driving change in companies to bring valuable insights for company partners to make decisions to further develop their startup ecosystems. With Startup Genome being a community network of startups, they push for collaboration and sharing to help improve performance. Fueled by research backed by 10,000 plus startups, Startup Genome is building their collective experience to continue to help more business leaders.

The major difference compared to other alternatives is the fact Startup Genome is a mostly free offering where they list their research online for any startup or company to see publicly. The data and models they have developed is a useful resource that quantifies that information from startups that range back to 2011.

My name is Brandon Wester and I am a dual major student in Finance and Entrepreneurship at the University of Portland. I grew up in Miami, Florida as attribute most of my values from my times spent there. My family came from Cuba after the revolution and fulfilled their American dream of freedom and entrepreneurship. The values of hard work and passion rubbed off on me and I pride myself in the work I do everyday. I also think that I have a very diverse perspective, growing up in a hispanic environment and expereincing a melting pot of cultures throughout South Floirida. I value colaboration with people from different backgrounds and have found that diverse thinking promotes design thinking. 

I have a strong passion for the financial markets and started trading public stocks when I was 11 years old. Becasue of this, I knew I wanted to work with securities from an early age. I am currently in the start up phase of Moolah Financial. Moolah is a financial tech app that democratizes the world of managed funds and gets clients the lowest fees with the best performance.
