In fact, I am from Bangkok, Thailand. I have moved to Japan to study Robotics and AI at Tohoku University. I am a person with a deep passion in any fields of study that will upgrade people's lives, and that was why I chose this field as my major of study. However, right now my interests go beyond much more than that. I became interested in anything inside computer science, economics, and control engineering, all of which are studies that help human do things, and they are merely exciting.

At Tohoku University, there are students who are motivated but have given up trying for some reasons, such as "I want to do something, but I don't have any ideas" or "I have something I want to do, but I don't have any friends and there are not enough supports. In addition, the culture of design thinking has not taken root among Japanese students, and there seems to be a resistance to updating a single thing or idea by incorporating outside opinions and rethinking it repeatedly. As a result, each idea often '''ends up being a personal satisfaction''', and not an idea that is generally recognized as useful. There is a need to incorporate design thinking as a way to transform individual ideas into projects beneficial for society.

===Challenge===

We will build a network that can connect and help the students mentioned above. In addition, we will establish a culture in Tohoku University where design thinking is used on a daily basis.

However, since design thinking is not being taught to all students in the current curricula, we need opportunities to make them aware of its necessity and effectiveness.

Promote the necessary and effective use of design thinking to first-year students and those who are starting a new project, either from entrepreneurship classes or purely from their interests.

===Target===

First-year students and those who are starting a new project are the main goals to achieve. Exposing young students to design thinking mindset will generate a positive wave of impact throughout their 4-year journey.

===Background===

First of all, we have a plenty of challenging programs in Tohoku University. For example, Tohoku University Global Leader Programs, Tohoku University Entrepreneurial Leader Program, and SDGs Programs. These are well known among students across the campus. But also there are some challenging programs which are not well known among students. Such as International Strategy developments Programs in the department engineering and Early Work Programs supported by Tohoku University Start-ups incubation center.

===Challenge===
We would like to make the information gap smaller and enable students to find challenging programs which may boost their curiosity and passions. Our challenge is to overcome the wall between information provided by Tohoku University and Students. To break this wall, we are planning to make a visual map with campus facilities and programs like we did in week3 session. And hand it to students, mainly freshman and sophomore. So, it would make it easy to find drawing mind programs.

Mainly freshman and sophomore who have passions after getting entered Tohoku University.

Design Thinking has not been adopted by general students at Tohoku University. Some students might not even know what it is. After analyzing the campus, we found that students in the university also seek more events where they can establish connections. Therefore, we came up with this event to let students know about others while experiencing some parts of Design Thinking.

===Challenge===

Let students of any background know and, ultimately, familiarize themselves with the use of design thinking. Meanwhile, we must make sure that the event is made comfortable so that people can socialize. Finally, we are to make everyone find design thinking useful in their projects.

===Target===

Students of any background, special attention to active students who regularly seek activities to join. Another target is a teacher that wants to introduce design thinking activities to his or her students; that can be applicable to laboratory professors who want to use a design thinking session for their research work.

==Amplifying global outreach and productivity by the Virtual University==

As a result of the pandemic, many students miss the opportunities to engage in classes like they used to. Even some students are still stuck in their countries despite having already gone through the first year of study. This situation induces immense stress and fatigue in them and thus gradually limited their willpower and motivation during the day. In addition, The university sticks to the traditional (?) Zoom and Google meet when holding classes and events, including ones that consist of students from abroad. The old-school way of video conferences does not promote proper discussions. After the session ends, the meeting closes, everyone went on their way, and actually very few have their conversation continued. From all these problems, we think that the education system can be made more fun and less mind-taxing to both students and faculty to counter the burdens of the pandemic and further create a sustainable environment and ecosystem in the long run.

Students are passionated to take any action but they wonder where and how they are able to work on. On the contrary, students who already completed such kinds of activities do not have any place to output their valuable experience. If we are able to connect "beginner" : students who are looking for the chance, and "alumni" :students who have experience, it will be inclusion and innovation.

To create the website as platform, we plan to organize a web design contest. The winner gain the opportunity to create actual website as our platform site.

====Phase 2 collect information====
We ask juniors and seniors and Masters to give comment about their experience, evaluation of activities. About institution side, we ask each department office to provide information .

====Phase 3 SNS advertise====
Through SNS, advertise to students who are looking for something exciting, especially freshman and sophomores

===Hult Prize On Campus Tohoku University (until 2021)===
Hult Prize is a global entrepreneurship event focusing on university students to exert waves of positive impact on society. Tohoku University has been enlisted as one OnCampus competition venue since 2019 and has been a hub for more than 50 competitors in more than a dozen teams every year.

===Innovation Plaza===
Innovation Plaza falls under Tohoku University's School of Engineering. It fosters students' creativity by exposing them to fundamental experiments and practices in using cutting-edge technology. In Innovation Plaza, there are rooms for machining processes, material processing, a material lab, a computer room, digital prototyping, digital design, etc. These rooms promote students to conduct various research and experiments. Measuring and processing devices, experimental apparatuses, and digital prototyping apparatuses are prepared for reservations, so students can start getting their hands dirty to make the coolest projects possible.

===Early Work Program===
Tohoku University Startup Incubation Center offers the "[https://sites.google.com/tohoku.ac.jp/early-work-program/home?authuser=0 Early Work Program]" to support students' challenging technology projects during the spring and summer long vacations. The Center selects 5-7 teams each time and provides support for hypothesis testing methods, development funds, and development locations over a period of two months. I found really interesting the fact that you have to know how many people are interested on developing an idea. Personally, I would have avoided that part, and just launched that program. Also I think that having the opportunity that big companies can finance some projects, or even your University can do that is really amazing. In my Uni, you have to pass many filters in order to achieve some kind of founding, and at the long term, they took advantage of your idea and use it to promote their entrepreneurial spirit, I don't think that it's a bad movement, because they finance your idea, and they should have something on return, but maybe there are other better options for you to pay them back.

I absolutely enjoyed reading this. I was not sure what to expect, but this guide makes it seem not entirely hard.

Sponsorship is really everything and the guide does a good job pointing how crucial it is. This guide is practical and put me on the right track of information.

I liked the detail about how the venture fund has to provide support and mentorship for entrepreneurs, not just provide funding. This is something that I believe is very important, since throwing away money on poorly managed ventures would actively harm the entrepreneurial spirit of my university.

I found interesting the fact that support is one of the critical factors of success. Having the support of the faculty allows you to move forward with the project. Support from peers could help with raising funds on and off-campus. I think new things and innovations always meet a lot of criticism, so researching peoples' interest in the subject is essential for the project.

I like the point on being present on campus and the examples given. I think this is a really cool idea and definitely being prepared and showing other students that this program is present could inspire more ventures.

Early stage venture funds are essential for the spread of entrepreneurship within communities and for innovation to be produced at the most fundamental level. Universities should be a place where students not only learn new information, but also produce new works and products with what they have learned. It is a very instructive process to make financial planning and commercialize an idea while producing a product. However, in my opinion, in order for such a fund to be established, venture capital must first be popular in that country because the most important part of the process is to find investment for the fund while raising money for the fund.

In addition, if I have to give an idea, if the universities have a chance to provide financial support to the establishment of the funds, the initiatives coming out of the universities may have a chance to find support with crowdfunding within themselves.

I am very intrigued by this page. It is absolutely crucial to find financial support for student-led awesome projects, and this page guides about that.
