==Bio==
As a second-year student at Xavier University of Louisiana, Lillian Nero is a History and Education double major (formally recognized as Social Studies Education) who has passions lying in advocating for equitable education, as well as raising awareness to the importance of historical archival work. During teacher practicum experiences, she has not only fostered relationships with students grades 8-12, but has also created a framework to help middle school students decide which high school to attend.

During June of 2023, Lillian journeyed back to her hometown of Omaha, NE equipped with skills she learned at Xavier to help facilitate STEM lessons at the Eureka! summer camp hosted in partnership with Girls Inc. of Omaha and the University of Nebraska at Omaha. While on staff at Eureka!, Lillian had the opportunity to be exposed to new teaching styles, various types of educational programming, as well as become more familiar with bridging the gaps between STEM education and underrepresented students.

Lillian also holds a position as a student worker in the University Archives at Xavier where she reviews, assess and inputs historical artifacts into the official archival system. Artifacts range from school yearbooks, to gifts from Catholic Bishops, to books published in the 19th century.

Post graduation, Lillian intends to further her education in both history and secondary education, and to champion for educational reform and eventually work with the U.S. Department of Education.

President of Black Student Leadership Council for the 2021-2022 schoolyear; Vice President of Xavier University's Education Club for the 2023-2024 schoolyear; recognized on the Dean's List for the Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 semester.
