&lt;div&gt;I'm a junior studying finance at Menlo College, Silicon Valley's private undergraduate business school. Also, I am studying real estate and anticipate receiving my California Real Estate Salesperson License in Q2-2017. Since completing my paid 2016 summer internship at Brand Capital, a private equity firm, I continue to work on multiple projects for them. I also work on project-based assignments for GSV Asset Management, a venture capital firm, since completing my paid 2015 summer internship. At Menlo, I manage the entrepreneurship club I founded in 2015, the Pioneer Club, an exclusive organization connecting Menlo College alumni and outside corporate sponsors (e.g., such as GSV) to mentor and advise student-entrepreneurs. I authored a published article, 'Obtaining Happiness: A Report from Silicon Valley'; annually volunteer for the Help One Child Foundation as a senior camp counselor for the Signs of Hope Camp for at-risk kids and foster children; and, frequently volunteer for Safe@Home &amp;amp; Rebuilding Together in the San Francisco Bay Area.&lt;/div&gt;</summary>

Creating a space for Innovation and Entrepreneurship on the Menlo College campus is difficult because of our small size. Menlo College has a little less than 1000 students and already uses up almost all of its space.&amp;amp;nbsp; That is why we thought of setting up temporary innovation spots outside around campus.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;amp;nbsp; We would stake out a location on campus and during certain parts of the day, we would set up an outside creative space. We would have a shed nearby that contains chairs, tables, white boards, music speakers, bean bags. We would also have a crate that is full of resources for the students, markers, sticky notes, pens, some days we would bring pizza, fresh fruit, and beverages.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;amp;nbsp; We feel that a creative space outside, with the trees, fresh air, and something that would offer a new scene rather than be inside, like every classroom, would ignite more creative thinking.&amp;amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;

== Strategy #2: Bringing Awareness to On-Campus Resources ==&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Menlo College has a limited of already established, on-campus resources related to entrepreneurship and innovation. However, the resources Menlo currently provides its students with are underutilized. One area students should utilize more is the Oral and Communications center. Next, by adding a specific space for innovation on campus, students will be able to have an area to cultivate their own business ventures. In addition, clubs and other campus organizations can put on events and skill-building workshops in our space for innovation on campus. This will bring students together and excit them to pursue their entrepreneurial visions. Another area of interest could be partnering with the Academic Success Center, where we could organize game night challenges related to acamdeia and have peer tutors as well as other faculy be guest judges.&lt;br /&gt;

== Strategy #3: Strengthening Curriculum and On-Campus Clubs ==&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Menlo College is currently undergoing a revamp in part of their education curriculum, specifically in regards to the entrepreneurship major. A committee at Menlo is thinking about possibly developing a course at Menlo that would combine aspects of &amp;quot;social innovation&amp;quot; (improving society) and entrepreneurship, with the goal of eventually incorporating it in other classes. One concept that would be covered in this potential &amp;quot;social innovation entrepeneurship&amp;quot; course is using entrepreurship to solve problems with California's affordable housing crisis or climate change.&amp;amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Another idea that is being discussed at Menlo is incorporating &amp;quot;themes&amp;quot; into the curriculum to help students find and develop their personal passions with business - if you like technology, you would take &amp;quot;technology entrepreneurship&amp;quot;. Another idea is combining some class, so biology would combine with a business course to become &amp;quot;biotechnology&amp;quot; or something.&amp;amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;

Menlo College is a small private school located in Atherton, California. With a little over 800 students, Menlo College offers degrees mainly in business, as well as a degree in psychology that has a business focused. Being in the heart of Silicon Valley, Menlo College provides its students a unique approach to business: being able to see and learn about companies, such as Facebook and Google, who are just a short drive away from our campus. However, because Menlo College is such a small college, we lack many resources needed for innovation. Having the influence of such great entrepreneurial businesses around us is not enough to implement our own ideas as students without the necessary materials, mentors and an area to foster creativity. Therefore, the UIF Leadership Circle of Menlo College looks forward to identifying the gaps in our ecosystem, which need to be strengthen in order for Menlo College students to fully embrace entrepreneurship and innovation.&lt;br /&gt;

Menlo College students are passionate about entrepreneurship and innovation; except, there are only minimal assets for them to utilize on campus. Entrepreneruship is offered as a major for those pursuing a business degree and is a growing major at Menlo College. The large presence of clubs on campus gives students the extracurricular opportunities to explore their areas of interest, such as the Pioneer Club, an organization strictly designed for entrepreneurs and creative thinkers alike. Menlo College Office of Career Services hosts a number of career orientated workshops, such as how to create a cover letter and resume workshop to learning how to set up a Linkedin profile; these are just a few of the events Menlo College offers to support entrepreneurship in their studnts. In addition, this was the first year Menlo participated in the Hult Prize competition, a start-up accelorator for social entrepreneruship. With the success of this competition, Menlo College is looking to expand on-campus challenges.&lt;br /&gt;

As a possible solution, Menlo College can partner in collaboration efforts with Stanford University and other local univerisities for students to see and utilize the resources in their surrounding environment.&lt;br /&gt;

Menlo College has a very low regional and local ecomonic development. Ultimately, this deprives students from pursuing their innovative business ideas as well as learning the steps to fully develop their ideas.&amp;amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;
