- Design the first part of the course by using the key points of the existing and functional programs "agents of change" and "innovation week" taught by our university and adapt them for this new course, interact with the directors of those programs to learn about their experience. The central guidelines should be: innovation, entrepreneurship, development of ideas, project management, leadership.

- For the second part of the course, design the little projects based on the careers that the university imparts, so students can choose those related to their owns if they want. By the way, they should be encouraged to improve those projects or sugest new ones. In this part working with directors of the different areas to choose some ideas for the little investigation is a must.

- In the future the idea is that the old participants take place as referents, imparting the course volunteering, but in the beginning we should form some references to start.

- Establish the characteristics of schools and high schools that we will ask to be involved.

- The main reason why students would not participate is because they do not have free time. Evaluate the possibility of designing the course so that a reasonable amount of time is invested but as limited as possible. It must be taken into account that correct development cannot be jeopardized by time reductions.

- Define the amount of credits that students will get as exchange for participating

- The objective of the course is not to strongly train the student in I&E, it is a kickstart to motivate them to continue with other more specific courses in the future.

UTEC is a proposal of public education, with a technological profile, committed to the expansion of the higher education supply to the interior of Uruguay (the main idea was to settle or locate the University in the interior of the country); fostering the link with the productive environment and the promotion of the country's social and cultural development. =Promoting student innovation and entrepreneurship=

This section provides opportunities for both UTEC students and external individuals. The goal is to mentor them in the field of entrepreneurship, whether they have an idea or already have a business in place. From that point, they meet with experts who guide them through the subsequent steps in the best possible way. If the experts see potential in that idea or business, they assist in securing external funding from sources outside of UTEC to bring that idea to fruition.

=Encouraging faculty innovation and entrepreneurship=

This sector is similar to the previous one; the difference lies in that these are already advanced and operational businesses requiring a different type of guidance on how to expand. This expansion includes various areas such as e-commerce, marketing, and social media. Additionally, they are connected with governmental entities or specific financing programs tailored for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

=Actively supporting the university technology transfer function=

In this area, courses are provided for entrepreneurs who wish to learn or enhance their use of the Excel tool, delivered by a renowned professor and accountant, all free of charge. For individuals with a specific idea who want to prototype it, this is made possible through 3D modeling. UTEC boasts state-of-the-art 3D printers and also offers modeling courses, which is innovative in the region. This is because few places in the country provide these types of tools.

=Facilitating university-industry collaboration=

In this section, various types of conferences have been organized, where UTEC has covered the expenses to bring relevant actors from global supply chains to share their experiences. Additionally, there is an exchange of knowledge with all participants through interactive question sessions. In the field of robotics, a competition was held, attracting participants from the neighboring country, Brazil, who competed with Uruguayan students and exchanged knowledge. All of this took place during a week where they could share, compete, and learn about the robotics field.

=Engaging with regional and local economic development efforts=

In this section, various types of in-person gatherings were organized, with the participation of UTEC students from across Uruguay. In addition, specific conferences were held, focusing on environmental sustainability, with the aim of exploring what we can do to bring about sustainable change.

=International Relations Unit=

The International Relations Unit promotes and maintains links with foreign institutions and organizations that strengthen academic and research activity through networks of universities, research centers and international organizations, academic exchanges and joint programs.

Internationalization in its broadest sense and integrated to management, allows universities to be part of international trends in education and learning, as well as to provide all their students with the necessary resources to make a positive contribution to society.

The Regional Technological Institutes (ITRs, by its acronym in Spanish) are the manifestation of UTEC in the territory (the campus).They are located on different regions in the country, based on the local needs for higher education in each place. They are the centers that manage the activities in the region; in order to create a dialogue with the environment, through a strong decentralized profesional path. 

When UTEC was first created its main focus was to decentralize centers of higher education in the country from the capital. At the time all uruguayan students could mostly do if they wanted to pursue a college career was to move to Montevideo, and study there. This drastically changed with the arrival of UTEC. Its first institution was built in the southwest part of the country, Fray Bentos. Since then on, all ITRs built have been following the same path and have been designed to fit the communities they were built around.

In UTEC centers don't focus on just one area with a fixed list of careers, since its purpose is to provide more access to education, in each building you can have very different careers from different departments.

There are many centers throughout the country that belong to UTEC, where the faculty's offices and the classrooms are located. Each center belongs to a subgroup in the university according to its location, this groups are the ITRs. There are currently three well established (although still growing) ITRs, and a fourth one that is still being implemented (athough already working). The ITRs and their assigned centers are the following:

=Promoting student innovation and entrepreneurship=

At UTEC, there can be found many workshops focused on innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as undergraduate courses that are focused on science and engineering, the teachers encourage their students to innovate and to have an entrepreneurial perspective when making the projects.

The main event of innovation and entrepreneurship is the Innovation Week, which takes place in the month of October and gathers companies from public and private areas joining forces alongside local high schools and their students, as well as other higher education institutions and universities, with the special collaboration of the Finnish university JAMK, working all together in order to discover new ways of innovation, bring a wide spectrum of careers together to make a project, instead of each career doing the task separately. And also, this projects will have a great impact in the community.

==Bio==

Hi! Im Lucia and I was born in montevideo, uruguay, in august 7th of 1998. I grew up in a very calm place called "Lomas de Solymar", where I started developing my love for nature and peaceful places.

As a child I practiced many sports such as figure skating, swimming and artistic gymnastics. At the age of five I went to my first ballet class, where I discovered my passion for dancing. Also as a child and teen I learned English, and a bit of French and Portuguese.

When I was 15 years old I realized that I was really interested in chemistry, so I went to a specific highschool to learn about that.

By 18 I started my major in Chemical Engineering, but 3 years later I got stuck, frustrated, and a bit disappointed about the degree, that messed with my mental health so I decided to take a break to change some things in my life in order to be happy and healthy. I had some time in therapy, with my psychologist I discovered that I was really interested in social problems, especially those related with children. After that I participated in a volunteering program to help teenagers pass their pending exams, it was a revealing experience that impulsed me to keep looking for social projects and confirmed my interest in being part of young people’s education. Also in that time I got my first job.

After a lot of introspective work, 2022 was a really good year for me. I started a new major, having really good academic results in my first year, and also I got a new job where I feel so happy and comfortable with my workmates.

Hi! My name is Martina Fernández. I'm currently studying to get a Bachelor's degree in Information Technologies at UTEC (Universidad Tecnológica del Uruguay). I had a hard time deciding on my career path, but finally got into IT because I find that in this field you can end up working in projects that have to do with many different problematics, having the opportunity to collaborate with people from all around the world, and being able to see the results and impact of your work. I consider myself a very curious person, and I think that's my drive.
