This doesn’t mean that accounting, finance, psychology, etc. students are not allowed to enrolled in the class, but they must show some type of initiative that proves that they are genuine about launching their own ventures. The initiatives may be the fact that they have been working on their startups for some time, and they are looking for a way to start out. Which leads to the next big change that would be introduced to Launching the Venture.</span></span></span><br />

It will give them a better foundation that will better prepare them when or if they apply for a job in Silicon Valley.</span></span></span><br />

Menlo College’s only major with technology is Management Information Systems, that has been discontinued and contains limited courses. To find a solution to these issues we want to develop and coordinate new technology-driven courses within the curriculum such as; Business Intelligence & Data Science, Computer Programming (Python, C++, Java), Growth Hacking, Machine Learning/Automation, Mobile App/Web Development, and Design Thinking/Theory. Our objective is to have these set up as a Business & Technology & Innovation concentration or minor that students could potentially implement with their current major. In order to fulfill this we must coordinate with the school’s curriculum committee who then must get it approved by the faculty senate. We are also looking to incorporate pilot programs or 3-4 week modules that students can take on the side. This will not only prepare students for their professional expertise but also allow them to expand their innovative mind.</span></span></span><br />

This doesn’t mean that accounting, finance, psychology, etc. students are not allowed to enrolled in the class, but they must show some type of initiative that proves that they are genuine about launching their own ventures. The initiatives may be the fact that they have been working on their startups for some time, and they are looking for a way to start out. Which leads to the next big change that would be introduced to Launching the Venture.</span></span></span><br />

Menlo College’s only major with technology is Management Information Systems, that has been discontinued and contains limited courses. To find a solution to these issues we want to develop and coordinate new technology-driven courses within the curriculum such as; Business Intelligence & Data Science, Computer Programming (Python, C++, Java), Growth Hacking, Machine Learning/Automation, Mobile App/Web Development, and Design Thinking/Theory. Our objective is to have these set up as a Business & Technology & Innovation concentration or minor that students could potentially implement with their current major. In order to fulfill this we must coordinate with the school’s curriculum committee who then must get it approved by the faculty senate. We are also looking to incorporate pilot programs or 3-4 week modules that students can take on the side. To do that, we must encourage more entrepreneurship students to enroll in the class, while the non-entrepreneurship students who do not wish to have anything to do with startups are encouraged to enrolled in the other senior capstone course: Global Strategy. This doesn’t mean that accounting, finance, psychology, etc. students are not allowed to enrolled in the class, but they must show some type of initiative that proves that they are genuine about launching their own ventures. The initiatives may be the fact that they have been working on their startups for some time, and they are looking for a way to start out. Which leads to the next big change that would be introduced to Launching the Venture.</span></span></span><br />

That challenge could be easily overcome because the school only needs to hire 2-3 people to run the accelerator department, where they invite mentors to work with the students, provide outside connections that students can reach out to, and most importantly, coordinate a final pitching stage, where various angel investors are invited, to attend the student’s final pitch, where they will present the business plans they have been refining for a semester.</span></span></span><br />

The non-serious entrepreneurs are the first factors that we need to address. To do that, we must encourage more entrepreneurship students to enroll in the class, while the non-entrepreneurship students who do not wish to have anything to do with startups are encouraged to enrolled in the other senior capstone course: Global Strategy. This doesn’t mean that accounting, finance, psychology, etc. students are not allowed to enrolled in the class, but they must show some type of initiative that proves that they are genuine about launching their own ventures. The initiatives may be the fact that they have been working on their startups for some time, and they are looking for a way to start out. Which leads to the next big change that would be introduced to Launching the Venture.</span></span></span><br />

That challenge could be easily overcome because the school only needs to hire 2-3 people to run the accelerator department, where they invite mentors to work with the students, provide outside connections that students can reach out to, and most importantly, coordinate a final pitching stage, where various angel investors are invited, to attend the student’s final pitch, where they will present the business plans they have been refining for a semester.</span></span></span><br />

To find a solution to these issues we want to develop and coordinate new technology-driven courses within the curriculum such as; Business Intelligence & Data Science, Computer Programming (Python, C++, Java), Growth Hacking, Machine Learning/Automation, Mobile App/Web Development, and Design Thinking/Theory. Our objective is to have these set up as a Business & Technology & Innovation concentration or minor that students could potentially implement with their current major. In order to fulfill this we must coordinate with the school’s curriculum committee who then must get it approved by the faculty senate. We are also looking to incorporate pilot programs or 3-4 week modules that students can take on the side. ==Bio==<br />
Originally from fabulous Las Vegas, NV, Lina Lakoczky-Torres is an incoming junior at Menlo College studying business management with a concentration in entrepreneurship and innovation. She's passionate about destigmatizing mental health and its intersectionality between addiction, homelessness, and sex work. <br />
<br />
In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Lina founded the Menlo College Veg Club which works to bring awareness to the cruelty of factory farming and invites students to expand their horizons with new foods. With this, she also served as the Menlo College Student Government Wellness Representative (2019-2020) and now holds the position of Resident Assistant. Constantly growing and evolving, Lina uses these experiences to further understand the lived experiences of her community to effectively advocate for change where needed. <br />
<br />
Lina's long-term goals include earning a dual J.D./M.B.A. degree from UC Berkeley and running a non-profit organization.<br />

It is awareness session that creates a greater impact. It is the responsibility of all the stakeholders to groom the students and to foster the innovation culture. The world is dynamic and the changes that are happening around will influence new trends. The authorities will have to take up the major responsibility of engaging students in the innovation activities and to give an impetus to the entire ecosystem. Such kind of innovative and enthused campus transforms to be a pivotal center in the entire community and lead the changes. To bring the change impact, the students should get committed and they have to participate enthusiastically in all the learning activities. The involvement of the faculty, the curiosity of the students and the commitment for growth from that of the management shifts the paradigm. The campus beams with activities and students get inspired. It is the duty of all stakeholders to involve actively in the campus related activities and provide quality education to the global citizens.<br />

I found this article to be very useful. Loyola University is a relatively smaller school, so I could envision using these tips and tactics to help. I think our biggest issue is not that many students know about innovation and entrepreneurship and its importance, so these tips could be very useful for my school. I think a good think about smaller campuses that is noted in this piece is that face to face interactions are very feasible and useful. I believe that could be one of the most useful tips in order to spread awareness of innovation and entrepreneurship on this campus.<br />

As a marketing major, this article was very useful for me. I go to Iona College, and our student population is fairly small. I like how the suggestions were focused on how to better the school's community and tackle some of the ongoing problems on campus. Every school has things that need to change, and the workshops make it easier to get to the bottom of those problems.
