==Bio==
Ratna Keerthana Nanduri is a person who values human relations very much and believes that life is all about making connections with as many people as possible. She was born in Andhra Pradesh , India. She is currently pursuing her bachelor's degree in VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute Of Engineering and Technology , Hyderabad,Telangana,India. New things excite her and hence she chose a new course named 'Computer Science and Business Systems' as her engineering branch. 
She has completed her schooling from Vikas - The concept School ,Hyderabad. At leisure time she makes crafts and handmade toys such as woolen teddy bears and gifts them to kids as her love towards children is unbounded. She has learnt Carnatic Music for 9 years and has received prizes in many competitions. Drawing and throwball are her other favorite pastimes. 
She strongly believes in Mahatma Gandhi's quote - "You must be the change you wish to see in the world". The quote that always inspires her is : "If you fail, never give up because fail means 'First Attempt In learning" which was said by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Her goal is to setup an enterprise and provide employment to rural women and make them self-dependent.

==Achievements==
She stood first in the college in Intermediate (equal to 12th standard in India) with a score of (984/1000). Received a gold medal at school for 'Best Outgoing Girl of the Year' in cultural activities (2016-2017). She stood 1st at state level Debate Competition held at Ganges Valley School - Hyderabad, India(2016-2017).Bagged 2nd prize in State level Calligraphy Competition held by 'Reynolds' (2015-2016). She was elected as the 'Cultural Secretary' for the Cultural Club of her School (2016-2017).
She is very passionate about music . She received trophies for State and Zonal level Singing Competitions (Bharath Vikas Parishad). She had participated in 'Women Empowerment Seminar' at Indian School of Business (ISB) (2016).

M&M here means marketing and marketing. 
We have observed that even though there are many resources related to I&E in our college, there is less awareness among the students. We plan on spreading awareness about the resources in the college.
We plan on doing this by 
* digitalizing the college newsletters and planning a campus tour for the students which will be done elaborately by us.
* releasing podcasts titled '''"VOICE OF VNR"''' about the resources and all the recent activities and competitions in an innovative way.
* efficiently maintaining the data about all the projects done by the students and giving everyone access to the data.

This is what the first '''"M"''' of our M&M refers to.

We have even planned to get feedback related to all the resources in the college and take the innovative ideas of the students too for the improvement of the initiative. This will be done by I4I - IDEAS FOR INNOVATION.
We plan to do this by
* campaigning anonymously and just pasting the posters having only I4I in the college with no information to increase the curiosity.
* later placing idea boxes with different questions on each box scattered around the campus.

This requires fulfilling requirements of the problem given by us/chosen by them in a very innovative way using as much less resources as possible. The problem statements will be to solve the problems of the campus and the ideas that the students provide will be implemented in the college. The process for this program involves two strategies for the selection of problem:
 I) 
* Students from '''various departments''' are grouped into a team.
* Each team visits various places in the college and identifies various '''problems prevailing in and around that area'''.

II) 
* In the second strategy, we announce the details of '''half-completed projects''' by seniors/alumni through ''''VOICE OF VNR'''' to bring in awareness in the students regarding the strategy.

We aim at reducing this fear to some extent by
*inviting people to narrate their failure stories and how failures helped them succeed.
*conducting competitions in which the idea is given more importance rather than the success of the idea.
*giving assignments in such a way that it is based not on the completion but on the innovativeness of the idea.
*organizing informal meetups where everyone can talk about their failures in an acceptable environment.

====4.STUDENTPRENEURS-THE HELPING HANDS====
We here plan on encouraging every small idea of every student and help it grow through effective guidance from the experienced faculty. We here plan on bridging the gap between the faculty passionate to help and students with ideas.

We plan on doing this by:
* implementing the 'ON-PAPER' policies to the maximum possible extent.
* giving some extra credits or some form of appreciation to students with viable entrepreneurial ideas.
* helping the impressive and viable projects take shape by funding through the college.
* promoting the students to take up the projects that are done to a certain extent by the alumni by making the database of the projects public so that the students can innovate the existing projects and join any project of their interest.
* helping students with their patents and the proceedings for the same.

====5.CREATIVE ASSIGNMENTS====

The creativity in assignments gives impetus to thinking at the very basic level. This would be the initial step towards innovative thinking and improving the innovative culture in the campus. The encouragement would be given to formulate assignments for the students in such a way that :
*the students have to think out of the box.
*the students will be given tasks to work as a team and individually too.
*the students will be encouraged to think new so that they get extra marks.
*the time constraint is relaxed as much as possible.
*the focus is on the quality of assignments rather than the quantity.
*even the teacher has to involve with the students in the due course of the assignment so that the dynamics between the students and the faculty is strengthened.

This way, the students can promote the idea of innovation through recognition as their prototype will be implemented in the college. This would act as an encouragement to the fellow peers. All the information will be circulated through the newsletters, the podcast etc.

VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering & Technology has established the Exclusive Research and Consultancy Centre (RCC) in the year 2006 for Research and development in multidisciplinary Engineering and Sciences with the following objectives:
# To provide strategic support for research across the institute for acquisition of new knowledge.
# To create specialized product development and testing laboratories with leading edge technologies.
# To work skillfully on the leading edge technologies to conceive and develop innovative products and services those are beneficial for Society.
# To facilitate consultation & testing services utilizing the intellectual capabilities of the faculty and existing physical infrastructure.
# To provide exposure and participation to faculty & students to the research activities in the institute enabling them to teach & learn from a higher platform.

The institute has initiated the novel concept of In-house research funding in the year 2007-08. This is to encourage the faculty to actively involve research and consultancy work besides their regular academic activities. In the last nine years the Institute funded directly an amount Rs. 2 Crores under the In-house research projects scheme. The institute has completed 48 projects worth Rs. 443.05 lakhs . The institute also has 30 ongoing projects worth Rs. 253.02 lakhs funded by industries, AICTE, UGC, DST and DRDO

The RCC is supported by eminent director Dr. A. S. Rao, Retired Scientist ‘G’, MHRD, India and Dr.B.Chennakeshava Rao ,Director Advancement. The RCC is headed by Dr. G. Ramesh Chandra, Professor, Department of CSE.

VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering & Technology has established the Exclusive Research and Consultancy Centre (RCC) in the year 2006 for Research and development in multidisciplinary Engineering and Sciences with the following objectives:
# To provide strategic support for research across the institute for acquisition of new knowledge.
# To create specialized product development and testing laboratories with leading edge technologies.
# To work skillfully on the leading edge technologies to conceive and develop innovative products and services those are beneficial for Society.
# To facilitate consultation & testing services utilizing the intellectual capabilities of the faculty and existing physical infrastructure.
# To provide exposure and participation to faculty & students to the research activities in the institute enabling them to teach & learn from a higher platform.

The institute has initiated the novel concept of In-house research funding in the year 2007-08. This is to encourage the faculty to actively involve research and consultancy work besides their regular academic activities. In the last nine years the Institute funded directly an amount Rs. 2 Crores under the In-house research projects scheme. The institute has completed 48 projects worth Rs. 443.05 lakhs . The institute also has 30 ongoing projects worth Rs. 253.02 lakhs funded by industries, AICTE, UGC, DST and DRDO

The RCC is supported by eminent director Dr. A. S. Rao, Retired Scientist ‘G’, MHRD, India and Dr.B.Chennakeshava Rao ,Director Advancement. The RCC is headed by Dr. G. Ramesh Chandra, Professor, Department of CSE.

Entrepreneurship Awareness Drives were conducted periodically for the benefit of the students every year in association with IIT, Kharagpur and IIT, Mumbai. I am so extremely excited for this meetup! I think it will be amazing to get to meet with other people in this program, trade ideas/advice for various projects, and get to meet the UIF team in person!

This will be an amazing experience! To have such an opportunity to engage with fellow UIF members at Stanford's d.School and tour various Silicon Valley locations will be incredibly enlightening. I consider myself very fortunate!

First of all, I feel very lucky with this opportunity at UIF program. I hope a pandemic situation will be better and next year I can attend Silicon Valley. But, I have to go through this training first, I hope I can do it. It's a big responsibility, and every big responsibility requires a big effort to do so. Um, I forgot something. I also have to have a passport and a visa. And if next year the world gets better, my first plane trip will be an amazing experience!
