Jyaklich:

== Design thinking classes are a great way to introduce incoming first-year students to innovation. ==

I think this is a great idea for incoming first-years! Having them participate in a design thinking class right at the beginning will allow them to find their passion and see if they could potentially be a good fit for UIF. Not only does it help them find a passion, it could very well be a new way to broaden their horizons as they develop deeper thinking skills. Opening their minds encourages them to enter into a new way of thinking that may not be standard in higher education. That will encourage change and more innovation on campus at an earlier age. It all starts with the key stakeholders such as students, faculty, and administration. If they get a large following of students it will be easier to talk to faculty and administration about implementing a new way of teaching class. Even a little demonstration class would help receive student interest on it.

== Ignite-Ideate-Design-Model-Product ==

yes i believe in the above stated procedure because when ever we wanted to create a design thinking class for the incoming first - year students i think we must include these things stated first we have to create a ignition of thought process and make them come up with a creative idea or a problem statement then ideate which means they have come with an idea which can solve the problem thought in the first stage then they must design it in a proper way and then create a sample model and finally it must lead to the development of a perfect and fruitful product. if we create a design thinking class for incoming students in this way this would be more interactive and engaging

== Introduction to problem-solving and human-centered design early on ==

Design thinking, especially when introduced to the student early on, instills innovative and human centered mindsets that will only benefit the student in the future. There is a lot of gravity in the importance of and educator seeing himself as a facilitator, as a learner, a resource. This serves the purpose of the student becoming the co-creator of his/her learning experience and designing something viable for a pre-existing need without judgement. Design thinking classes will change the dynamic between student and teacher transforming them both as learners; it will also make the student an initiator, a better leader, and a more empathetic person overall.
-Georgina F.

== Student Continuity ==

The creativity and innovation that design thinking provokes within students is very valuable. In reading what it takes to design a class, I liked the idea of having students return the following year to help. This continuity can bring a sense of community to the course. The hindsight knowledge that previous students can bring is valuable in sparking confidence and ideas in new students. The result of this design thinking opportunity with this trait gives the potential of creating an alumni network of growth and innovation.
