My name is Jevon Grant, I am a senior at Jackson State University studying Entrepreneurship. I have an evergrowing passion for technology, business, and youth. I frequently volunteer at local middle schools teaching the students about entrepreneurship and professional growth. I hope to spark the interest of entrepreneurship in the younger generation so that they may create wonderful opportunities for all of society to benefit from.  I will be graduating May 2014 and afterwards I will be seeking my MBA. After graduate school, I plan to start developing my startup. After all is said and done, I hope to leave behind me a legacy on my campus that promotes the student's ability to inpsire and change. To never accept "No" and to constantly grow and become better.

= Strategy #1: Change the student culture on JSU's campus =

Within this movement, I will be gathering a team of around 20-30 student leaders as part of my leadership circle. The mission within this movement is to empower the students on JSU's campus to step into the role as producers and initiators. With the resources already existing and those that are soon becoming available, I feel it's only right that all students have equal access to those as anyone else would. The students should be the key game changers on our campus and the administration should play the supporting role, seeing as how the university is meant for the advancement of the student. In stating all of this, our mission is also to promote interdisciplinary activities so that the different colleges on campus aren't segregated any longer. Every department on campus should function as one cohesive unit. 

= Strategy #2: Improve university technology and transfer and commercialization =

The JSU-MBIC Entrepreneurial Ecosystem (E2) will support development of the next generation of entrepreneurs for the state of Mississippi. E2 will support business entrepreneurial trailblazers who can take an idea to commercialization. E2 will provide a lean start-up infrastructure for creating "spin-off" companies.

The '''MS e-Business Innovation Center (MBIC)''' is a technology business incubator dedicated to assisting new businesses in their development.

*The MBIC is designed to guide the entrpeneurs through the process of building viable business operation by providing an environment tailored to meet their individual needs.
*The MBIC provides networking opportunities, mentoring, and coaching assistance. The focus is on ethical and strong business practices. The MBIC process is intended to enable graduating companies to be successful in the business world.

The '''Center for Business Development and Economic Research (CBDER)''' coordinates the research and service functions of the Jackson State University's College of Business. CBDER is actively involved in community and economic development through its partnerships with the Hinds County Economic Development District, the Metro Jackson Chamber of Commerce, the City of Jackson, and other entities and agencies. CBDER is composed of the Bureau of Business and Economic Research (BBER) and the Small Business Development Center (SBDC). Also, CBDER is involved with the education and training arm of the Mississippi Consortium for International Development (MCID) which offers seminars, internships, and other training opportunities.

The '''Mississippi Minority Business Alliance, Inc. (MMBA)''' creates and expands mutually beneficial relationships between minority-owned businesses, suppliers, and service organizations throughout the state of Mississippi. As the only statewide minority business alliance, MMBA advocates, facilitates, and brokers for the advancement of minority-owned businesses. MMBA members are minority-owned businesses, corporate, governmental and educational insitutions, and small minority-business resource agencies.

Jackson State University's '''Small Business Development Center (SBDC)''' is part of a network of Small Business Development Centers across the nation bringing expert business knowledge to small businesses at little or no cost to the small business owner. The Center has a business library that covers a wide range of business related to topic and other resources are available in the form of CD's and videos. SBDC also has access to demographic data that can assist in the development business plans.

'''Intelligent Solutions, LLC''' is designed around improving the efficiencies of organizations with the use of technology. Many businesses can produce better results by utilizing resources with optimal efficiency. We desire to help businesses operate at that level.
