Jeni Weber earned her Bachelors degree in Marketing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). She's spent the past 6+ years doing marketing for education technology companies, seeing two companies through to acquisition. She currently works for an AI education startup. 
Jeni's introduction to startups was in 2015 when she joined the first student-created startup company of UAB's Innovation Lab, Satterfield Technologies. She worked on business models, branding, and outreach. This work allowed her to rapidly learn through the Innovation Lab's mentors and hands-on experience. It was her initiation to the world of innovation and entrepreneurship. Jeni became a University Innovation Fellow in the Fall of 2016, and attended the Silicon Valley Meetups in March 2017 and November 2017. Her work as a Fellow while in school involved creating and maintaining the UAB Makerspace, a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship on campus. 
But most of Jeni's work as a Fellow happened ''after'' graduating. Since 2018, Jeni has annually interviewed candidates for the University Innovation Fellows program. She's supported new fellows at campuses around the world through their 6-week UIF training and beyond. She helped host the Silicon Valley Meetups as a "FAB" in March 2022 and March 2023, as well as the first University of Twente Meetup in April 2024. She wrote the article "A Guide to Sharing Your Work" for the first edition of ''Change Forward'', a UIF publication. Jeni once took a personality test and discovered that 4 out of 5 of her top strengths have to do with empathizing with and supporting other people. She realized two things after taking that test: 1) what makes the UIF program so special to her is the human connection, and 2) her favorite way to contribute to the UIF program is by supporting incoming Fellows and their mentors.

Jeni Weber earned her Bachelors degree in Marketing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). 
She is now a marketing specialist for an education company that focuses on unlocking the collective wisdom of teachers. Previously, she was the social media and digital marketing manager for an education technology startup that used AI to read and grade student handwriting -- offering teachers deeper insights and bridging the digital divide for students. She helped lead that startup to acquisition. She's worked on implementing marketing campaigns, creating content, customer support, and product quality assurance. Being able to wear many hats is what she loves most about the startup environment.

Jeni Weber earned her Bachelors degree in Marketing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). 
She now works for an education technology startup that uses AI to read and grade student handwriting, saving teachers time and offering them deeper insights into student performance. She does marketing, illustration, content creation, customer support, and product quality assurance. Being able to wear many hats is what she loves most about the startup environment. 
Jeni's introduction to startups was in 2015 when she worked with the first student-created startup company of UAB's Innovation Lab. This work allowed her to rapidly learn through hands-on experience, and was her initiation to the world of innovation and entrepreneurship. She became a University Innovation Fellow in the Fall of 2016. Her work as a Fellow involved creating the UAB Makerspace, a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship on campus. She enjoyed helping the space grow and facilitating educational events there. 
Jeni graduated in April of 2017, but she continues to contribute as a University Innovation Fellow by interviewing students for the program and supporting new fellows through UIF training. 
Since graduating, Jeni has implemented the design thinking she learned from UIF to her life by prototyping different careers and being open to opportunities. She's done freelance marketing, worked as a yoga studio assistant, and spent a year traveling and teaching English in Thailand and Bulgaria. Her current job integrates those experiences, as well as her love of fast-paced startup culture. She currently lives in Denver, Colorado.

She continues to apply the design thinking she learned from UIF to her life by prototyping different careers and lifestyles. She believes in staying curious and open to new opportunities. 
Since graduating, Jeni has been a digital marketing consultant, a yoga studio assistant, and an English teacher. She spent 6 months teaching English in Thailand and learning about the educational ecosystem there. Jeni is currently living in Bulgaria learning from a community of people who work online.

Jeni Weber is a former University Innovation Fellow who graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in April of 2017. Her sophomore year of college, she worked for a tech startup, Satterfield Technologies, the first student startup of the Innovation Lab at Innovation Depot. This experience was her introduction to the world of innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology. It led to her joining her fellow students in creating the UAB MakerSpace, a student-run organization dedicated to giving users a place to bring their ideas to life. Her senior year, she became a University Innovation Fellow, continued to work at maintaining and improving the UAB MakerSpace, and worked with her cohort and faculty to try to reframe the freshman experience and implement changes in the university’s core curriculum. She has had the privilege of attending the March 2017 Silicon Valley Meetup and the ui5 design event at Stanford in November 2017.

Jeni has a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing with a concentration in Marketing Management. Since graduating, she moved to Southern California, does marketing consulting for small businesses, works at a yoga studio, and is using design thinking to build her dream career and life.
