&lt;div&gt;Ash Nanda is a third year electrical engineering major at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Since he believes in interdisciplinary thinking, Ash&amp;amp;nbsp;holds eclectic academic interests, including minors in Mathematics, Computer Science, and Economics. At university, Ash spends much of his time[[File:AshN Headshot.jpeg|thumb|AshN Headshot.jpeg]] advocating for students, as a senator in the Undergraduate Student Government and within the Student Multicultural and Diversity Programs. He also spends time mentoring first year international students. Within his school, Ash acts as an Engineering Leadership Scholar, providing tours to prospective students. Ash's hobbies include playing table tennis, playing video games (predominantly League of Legends), and watching classic movies and USA, HBO, or Netflix original TV series.&lt;br /&gt;

To no surprise, technology became more his friend than humanity itself. While living in multiple regions around the southeast, Joe's solitary personality helped him develop a love for multiple art forms and sciences; most of them revolving around the computer platform.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
After spreading his wings and leaving his nest of supportive minds, he moved on to Birmingham, Alabama to begin a passionate search for deeper knowledge of the technological world. Joe currently lives in Birmingham, working on cryogenic freezers for the Engineering and Innovative Technology Development center. On his spare time he finds joy in playing various musical instruments, tinkering with anything that has electricity flowing through it, and finding unusual and obscure hobbies to broaden his view of life's great and unknown purpose.&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;div&gt;I am a Mechanical engineering student at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and also a staff member&amp;amp;nbsp;of the UAB Makerspace. I decided on engineering after joining my high schools robotics team. I really like the creative design process and fell in love with making ideas into reality. I am really interested in energy efficiency and sustainable solutions and I would like to work with companies that improve upon developing countries once I graduate. This passion for working with developing countries is founded upon my love for traveling and meeting people from different backgrounds. I also have always loved helping people and I would like to be involved with projects that improve upon someone's day to day life. My other interests include playing tennis, watching documentaries, and going to art shows and theater performances.&lt;br /&gt;

Since his freshman year, he has tried majors from psychology to civil engineering, settling into Public Health with a concentration in Environmental Health and minors in Art History and Peace, Justice and Ecology.&amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;lt;/div&amp;gt;&amp;lt;div&amp;gt;&amp;lt;br/&amp;gt;&amp;lt;br/&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/div&amp;gt;&amp;lt;div&amp;gt;At UAB he is a founding member and the Assistant Student Director of Outreach and Education at the UAB Makerspace. He has done research in a conservation biology lab and a lab studying the biopsychological basis of peaceful and agressive behavior. He is a sophomore in the University Honors Program, a university innitiative that replaces the core curriculum with interdisciplinary classes. He serves as the Secretary of the Theta Chi Fraternity on campus and on the UAB Counseling Services Student Advisory Board.&amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;lt;/div&amp;gt;&amp;lt;div&amp;gt;&amp;lt;br/&amp;gt;&amp;lt;br/&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/div&amp;gt;&amp;lt;br/&amp;gt;&amp;lt;div&amp;gt;In the future, he hopes to use his passions for community engagement, art and sustainability to create new standards for development in the third world. &lt;div&gt;&amp;lt;div&amp;gt;Kane Agan is a University innovation Fellow at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Since his freshman year, he has tried majors from psychology to civil engineering, settling into Public Health with a concentration in Environmental Health and minors in Art History and Peace, Justice and Ecology.&amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;lt;/div&amp;gt;&amp;lt;div&amp;gt;&amp;lt;br/&amp;gt;&amp;lt;br/&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/div&amp;gt;&amp;lt;div&amp;gt;At UAB he is a founding member and the Assistant Student Director of Outreach and Education at the UAB Makerspace. He has done research in a conservation biology lab and a lab studying the biopsychological basis of peaceful and agressive behavior. He is a sophomore in the University Honors Program, a university innitiative that replaces the core curriculum with interdisciplinary classes. He serves as the Secretary of the Theta Chi Fraternity on campus and on the UAB Counseling Services Student Advisory Board.&amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;lt;/div&amp;gt;&amp;lt;div&amp;gt;&amp;lt;br/&amp;gt;&amp;lt;br/&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/div&amp;gt;&amp;lt;br/&amp;gt;&amp;lt;div&amp;gt;In the future, he hopes to use his passions for community engagement, art and sustainability to create new standards for development in the third world. Once he returns to the U.S. he will serve as a Leadership and Education Consultant for his fraternity, travelling the country to recruit and found chapters. Matta, colloquially known as AJ, is a University Innovation Fellow studying Electrical Engineering at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Hailing from a long line of engineers and entrepreneurs, leadership and ingenuity are in his blood. Testing as an INTP on the Myers-Briggs personality test, he is extremely analytical and prefers to observe a situation from afar before jumping in. In his free time, he can almost always be found tinkering with something. His hobbies are as constant as a random number generator; constantly leading him to pick up new trade skills. While most hobbies begin and end on a whim, a few have stuck around throughout the years. The most notable of these include blacksmithing and working with open-source electronics (obviously). Currently attending UAB, he is involved with the UAB MakerSpace, as well as helping produce a weekly show on BlazeRadio. He hopes to continue to introduce new technology to students that otherwise would never have the opportunity to use it.&amp;lt;/span&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

The University of Alabama at Birmingham offers an abundance of resources to facilitate entrepreneurship. Several of the assets available to university students to help start or grow an idea are the iLab (Innovation Lab), the Innovation Depot, and The Edge of Chaos. The iLab is an area located within the Innovation Depot, a start up incubator for the greater Birmingham area, where university students can grow ideas and collaborate with other young entrepreneurs. Lister Hill Library provides a creative space, The Edge of Chaos, for students and faculty to step beyond the core curriculum and explore topics that they may find interesting or essential in understanding topics necessary for academic growth.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Seed funding sources available to UAB students include Velocity and the Clinton Global Initiate. Each of these is located through the Innovation Depot and the UAB Service Learning department, respectfully. The Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship offers the UAB Research Foundation as an asset to students when dealing with technology transfer. The UAB Office for Undergraduate Research also helps in providing sponsorship and funding for newly developed initiatives while assisting in technology transfer.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Grant writing, legal, and venture assistance is well established in the university’s ecosystem. The Honors College’s Science and Technology Honors Program provides direct support to students and training in how to write grants while also connecting students with faculty that are trained in such activities. The Center for Clinical and Translational Science also provides resources for students looking for assistance in research related topics when dealing with publications and planning clinical trials. All in all, UAB provides an ample amount of resources to help and encourage students to move ideas and services along their path to completion.&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;div&gt;&amp;lt;div&amp;gt;Kane Agan is a University innovation Fellow at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Since his freshman year, he has tried majors from psychology to civil engineering, settling into Public Health with a concentration in Environmental Health and minors in Art History and Peace, Justice and Ecology.&amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;lt;/div&amp;gt;&amp;lt;div&amp;gt;&amp;lt;br/&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/div&amp;gt;&amp;lt;div&amp;gt;At UAB he is a founding member and the Assistant Student Director of Outreach and Education at the UAB Makerspace. He has done research in a conservation biology lab and a lab studying the biopsychological basis of peaceful and agressive behavior. He is a sophomore in the University Honors Program, a university innitiative that replaces the core curriculum with interdisciplinary classes. He serves as the Secretary of the Theta Chi Fraternity on campus and on the UAB Counseling Services Student Advisory Board.&amp;amp;nbsp;&amp;lt;/div&amp;gt;&amp;lt;div&amp;gt;&amp;lt;br/&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/div&amp;gt;&amp;lt;div&amp;gt;In the future, he hopes to use his passions for community engagement, art and sustainability to create new standards for development in the third world. After graduation he will enter the art history masters program with a concentration in the historical and contemporary practice of how people use art to heal. After, he will enter a public health masters program in which he will enroll in the Peace Corps after his course work is complete. Once he returns to the U.S. he will serve as a Leadership and Education Consultant for his fraternity, travelling the country to recruit and found chapters. After, he hopes to pursue a PhD in Environmental Science, Policy and Management at The University of California at Berkeley and work for the United Nations Development Comission.&amp;lt;/div&amp;gt;&lt;/div&gt;</summary>
