Our delivery methodology will be to create a space, an innovation studio where we will strive to foster activities that encourage and support innovation on campus and especially among the student body. This studio is known as Berea Innovation Studio (BIS). Under the BIS we will&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Five strategic Priorities:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
#Coding Saturdays: a partnership with the computer science department to foster coding skills by hosting a 2 hour workshop at least per fortnight, on Saturday morning.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
-Lead person: Ability Kakama&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Milestone:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
*Space and Coding &amp;amp;nbsp;Instructors search, August to September 2014&lt;br /&gt;
*First event, First Week of October&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
#P2P Ideas review: Through the studio, encourage students to share ideas, provide feedback to each other and practice with pitch and presentations.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;

Milestone:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
*Start Fall 2014&lt;br /&gt;

#Makers’ Fair: Partner with the technology club to host a prototype design and building sessions, followed by a fair&amp;amp;nbsp; to show case these prototypes and ideas. These events should take place once every regular semester i.e. twice a year.&lt;br /&gt;

Key Partners: Technology Club, Technology department and Computer Science Department.&lt;br /&gt;

#Hackathon and startup preparation camps: Provide an opportunity for budding entrepreneurs to work on their ideas, pitch and get funding and feedback on their ideas. At initial stages, this should serve to prepare these students to participate in other established regional start up camps and weekends.&lt;br /&gt;

#Design projects for business and community: Partner with businesses and organizations in the community to work on projects that can be solved through design and innovative ways. A partner would provide a challenge and a team of students through the Innovation Studio would develop and design a solution.&lt;br /&gt;

*Identify partners and build relationships August to September 2014&lt;br /&gt;

#Lobby for a class in entrepreneurship that is mandated for every student as part of general studies program. &amp;amp;nbsp;These classes can be subject specific and offered as seminars e.g. entrepreneurship for biology and chemistry, entrepreneurship for Engineering and Technology&lt;br /&gt;

Indiegogo charges a fee for fundraising campaigns that are done on its platform, currently 4&amp;amp;nbsp; percent of fundraised amount&amp;amp;nbsp; if your fundraising goal is met or 9 percent of the&amp;amp;nbsp; fundraised&amp;amp;nbsp; amount if your goal is not met.
