           Ajay Ravi Chandrapattan is a successful 'University Innovation Fellow' of <span style="font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">Stanford University's Hasso Palttner Institute of Design (d.School). He is pursuing his undergraduate studies in </span>Mechanical Engineering at KLS Gogte Institute of Technology, Belagavi, Karnataka, India. 

[[File:Ajay Chandrapattan.jpg|thumb]]He is an International Student Exchange delegate and has represented India at Tokyo, Japan under Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, for the Students Exchange Program - JENESYS, 2011 (JAPAN EAST ASIA NETWOIRK OF EXCHANGE OF STUDENTS AND YOUTHS). He pursues  Major in Political Science from Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi, India. He is a Flying Cadet of Air Wing  Squadron of National Cadet Coprs (NCC) – 8 KAR AIR SQN NCC. He is honored with ‘YUVA CHETANA AWARD 2016 – Warriors of Change’ in National Level Consistent Category by Youth For Seva (service), for his contribution and work in social sector. 

He has represented the state of Karnataka and commanded the NSS Karanataka Contingent at the prestigious Republic  Day (RD) Parade on 26<sup>th</sup> January, 2016. He currently serves as University Student Coordinator of National Service Scheme (NSS) of Visvesvaraya Technological University, under Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.  He serves as the District Head of STUDENTS FOR DEVELOPMENT (SFD) of Belagavi District under AKHIL BHARATIYA VIDYARTHI PARISHAD (ABVP) – the world’s largest student organization. He is the Co – Founder of students NGO – UMEED (Hope).  He is the Student Coordinator of ‘Forum For Integrated and National Security’ (FINS), Belagavi Chapter and serves as the Steering Committee Member of  ‘Youth For Seva’ (YFS), Belagavi Chapter. He has collaborated with his team to innovate  “D.H.A.R.A” – ‘Device for Health monitoring And Rejuvination of Agriculture’, which conducts real-time and portable soil-testing process and gives weather and soil updates to the farmers, in real –time on their cellphones.

Being a social crusader and public speaker, his passion lies in consistently working for the student community and the society. A true patriot at heart and strong believer in the Indian Culture and value system, he strives with a single point agenda to be An Agent of Change to ‘Make A Difference’.

<div>Sanjana Baliga is a University Innovation Fellow and is a junior pursuing B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering at KLS Gogte Institute of Technology, India. She is a part of a leadership circle of four fellows at her college who are passionate about improving and enhancing the educational experience for all students. [[File:SanjanaBaliga.JPG|thumb]]</div><div><br/></div><div>Her journey at college so far has been a roller coaster ride of sorts. In her first year, Sanjana was bound only to academics and did not explore the possibilities beyond the curriculum. Needless to say, this left her wanting more. In her second year at college, she resolved to look out for opportunities and realized that her college provided a conducive environment for teams to flourish. Sanjana has a diverse set of interests. She has been part of the literary team, and a student formula racing team. Currently, she is a member of the aeromodelling team for her college. After having concluded that working collaboratively with her peers has greatly enriched her learning experience, she strives to bring this to other students. Because the teams in her college have rigorous selection procedures, being open only to a select few students, she is looking forward to creating an environment that encourages the formation of clubs that are accessible to all - beginners to experts.</div><div><br/></div><div>Sanjana takes a keen interest in all things science, and is fascinated by the power of technology today. He is a candidate for University Innovation Fellowship program where he is representing KLS Gogte Institute of Technology, India. Sagar is passionate about entrepreneurship and he has  pitched  ideas  at  business plan competitions. He is also associated with various innovation and entrepreneurship activities happening in his city and is also a member of aeromodelling team of his college. He is good at debate, quiz and has also travelled to different places to attend hackathons.</span>

<span style="font-size:larger;">He is a  member of  LEAD (LEaders Accelerating Development), an organization which fosters innovative and entrepreneurial thinking within college students through community service. Sagar considers University Innovation Fellowship program as a opportunity to spread the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among the students at his campus.</span>

Sanjana Gombi is a candidate of University Innovation Fellowship Program. She is pursuing BE in Computer Science at KLS Gogte Institute of Technology, Belagavi. After choosing engineering as her career, Sanjana has been involved in a lot of technical and social clubs for encouraging the students to develop skills in the field of their interest. Sanjana aims to become an agent of change to required improvements in the campus ecosystem through UIF program.
<div><br/></div><div>She thinks that an entrepreneurial mindset is something that is extremely important in this day and age and that she will use the same passion to instrument change in the society.</div><div><br/></div><div>Sanjana was awarded as the ‘ Student of the Year’ during her Pre Univesity days for her contribution in college activities and her outstanding performance in academics. She also worked as an editor for the same college for 2 years. Currently Sanjana is an editor at Rotaract Club ofGIT, an active member of Literary club and Association of Computer Engineers. Sanjana is also selected as a Campus Ambassoder for Shaastra (a Technical Fest by Indian Institute of Technology Madras)</div><div><br/></div><div>Sanjana is presently working on a number of projects that focuses on helping the society to bring about a sustainable change in the process. Neeraj Deshpande is a young mind filled with energy and positivity, pursuing Undergrad Degree in Computer Science and Engineering at KLS Gogte [[File:NeerajDeshpande.jpg|thumb|none]]Institute of Technology India. He’s been the part of University Innovation Fellows (UIF) team identified for Fall 2018, along with his other peers.

Neeraj could build a fairly balanced profile with the ingredients such as good and consistent academic performance, participation in Socio-Intellect Activities such as Debates, Hackathons, Tech Paper writing and presentation and articles etc, coupled with contributing his bit to the society through platforms such as Rotaract. Neeraj is passionate about the current affairs, quizzing and cricket.  Neeraj was a slightly introvert to begin with, but the platforms such as UIF and other student clubs in the institute and “Right” kind of friend circle has made him to be more active and visible through positive thoughts and actions.

Neeraj plans to see something useful and visible changes to happen in the teaching learning system of the institute using an innovative concept of Students mentoring their peer mentees and strike a win-win deal. Neeraj and his fellow team members would be building an application which would be one of the objectives of team UIF for 2018. You could see Neeraj on campus, either  debating with his friends about tech updates and current affairs or in the off campus mode he would be busy in writing critical reviews on social media and also watching cricket.

Neeraj could build a fairly balanced profile with the ingredients such as good and consistent academic performance, participation in Socio-Intellect Activities such as Debates, Hackathons, Tech Paper writing and presentation and articles etc, coupled with contributing his bit to the society through platforms such as Rotaract. Neeraj is passionate about the current affairs, quizzing and cricket.  Neeraj was a slightly introvert to begin with, but the platforms such as UIF and other student clubs in the institute and “Right” kind of friend circle has made him to be more active and visible through positive thoughts and actions.

Neeraj plans to see something useful and visible changes to happen in the teaching learning system of the institute using an innovative concept of Students mentoring their peer mentees and strike a win-win deal. Neeraj and his fellow team members would be building an application which would be one of the objectives of team UIF for 2018. You could see Neeraj on campus, either  debating with his friends about tech updates and current affairs or in the off campus mode he would be busy in writing critical reviews on social media and also watching cricket.

Neeraj Deshpande is a young mind filled with energy and positivity, pursuing Undergrad Degree in Computer Science and Engineering at KLS Gogte Institute of Technology India. He’s been the part of University Innovation Fellows (UIF) team identified for Fall 2018, along with his other peers.

The elements of innovation and entrepreneurship have been quite visible on campus by the students. Apart from the subjects that have been inducted in the curriculum, there have been courses like Design Thinking and Innovation, Management and entrepreneurship and B. Honors that are harnessing innovation and entrepreneurship amongst the students. There has been a consistent support from the college towards the students by providing platforms like annual technical fests “Avalanche”, where a student gets an exposure to implement innovation with design thinking and entrepreneurship, through paper presentations, business models and their entities. There are a many clubs like the Programmers Club and the Entrepreneurship Development Programme which promote innovative thinking among students. Hackathons organised by the New Age Incubation Network (NAIN) help to identify potential student projects that can be funded by the Government of Karnataka. Also, students are sponsored by highly reputed government organisations like KCTU under Technical Business Incubation(TBI) in the direction of promoting entrepreneurship. We have the Industry-Institute Partnership Cell which has facilities like Flexible Manufacturing System, Rapid Prototyping Machine, Coordinate Manufacturing Machine and Surface Roughness Machine, which can be used by students who have undertaken some projects, and also by the industry to train new recruits from the college. The NAIN Incubation Centre has all the facilities conducive to start start-ups by students. The teams  like SAE,BAJA,CSI,ASME,IEEE,DST-TI make the students go for lateral thinking, incubate their ideas and come up with their own business and technical models. The Mechanical Department has a tie-up with AEQUS  to provide CAD/CAM training to students. In addition to this, there is the Tata Technologies Ready Engineer program. Start Ups in the IT Incubation centre also provide internships to students. A group of 4 students from across departments from our college  have incubated their project at IIM Bangalore and funded by Government Of India and Texas instruments for their distinctive performance at DST-TI a national level competition encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship. They now own a start up named Sylus. There are start ups namely Bitjini, Ecobilz, Nidhi Consultancy services, Scrap Karo cash that are designated at college incubation centre which provide internship opportunities to the students on campus.

Entrepreneurship by faculty has become a recent trend on campus, our faculty members have shown keen interest to develop an interest of innovation and entrepreneurship among students. Few of our faculty members have started their start-ups in the IT incubation centre of our college. This has provided equal opportunity to faculty and students to groom their innovation and entrepreneurship skills and utilise it for the good. The college management has also been supportive and has decided to provide funding patent the projects, post screening. The projects would be patented on the basis of service or product, research or working device. This has been a good move to encourage entrepreneurship activities on campus. Prof Gajendra Deshpande, faculty from CS Department, Prof Nadpurohit , faculty from Electronics and Communication department also provide opportunity for the students to undergo on campus innovation and entrepreneurship through incubations.

Every department in the college has  a Board of Studies, which consists not only of senior professors of the department, but also experts from the industry. Industrial experts from recognised MNCs and resource persons from nationalised institutions form the crux of the council. We are also collaborated with a start up in the city by Sandbox Start ups at our sister institution KLS IMER. In the IT Incubation Center in our college itself, provides start-ups with an address and takes no fees for the first six months. Startup India, an initiative by the Government of India, provides 75% of patent filing fee and 100% of company registration fees. The College has also a tie up with Mercedes Benz under its venture Mercedes for Mech. An MoU has also been signed between Government Of Japan and KLS Gogte Institute Of Technology for a student exchange program named SAKURA. As a part of this MoU, a team of 5 students would be visiting Japanese University.

Start-ups from around the city recruit students from the college full-time or as interns. The college is involved in socio-economic causes through the NSS,LEAD and Rotaract clubs, in which students are deeply involved in social innovation. The projects upheld by these organizations of the college are improving the social and economic conditions of the people The college is also involved in many Government initiated socio technical activities and has contributed intellectually for the cause. Apart from this the students also take up technical assignments at various organisations of the region.
