= Overview =

Mann Deshi is entirely dedicated to the economic empowerment of the rural women belonging to marginalised communities.Keeping its model simple it runs a bank that Provides easy access to credits and a Foundation that permeates knowledge and skills to become successful entrepreneurs.Mann Deshi was founded in 1996 Mhaswad,drought-prone region of Satara district in Maharashtra.It holds the Vision of empowering women to celebrate as equals in their families as well as communities and the Mission of empowering women with skill,knowledge,courage and access to become successful entreprenuers.

= Purpose =

Mann Deshi provides training,skill and support for the women to expand their businesses reaching out to the remotest of villages seeking for the empowerment of rural women so as to have more control over their lives.

= Distinct Differences From Other Offerings =

Mann Deshi stands out in the following ways:

*Its model is exclusively designed for the empowerment of  rural women hailing from the marginalised communties.
*It provides access to a collective,entrepreneurship support,access to finance and community leadership.
*It also runs a number of social and community programmes like agriculture,water conservation,sports scholarship program and programmes promoting women's business.
*To make difference within the communities Mann Deshi strongly focuses on the education of girls and also provides bicycles to them so that they do not refrain themselves from going to the schools.
*Mann Deshi Bank advocates for gender based policy.

Mann Deshi provides a platform to work for the empowerment of rural women and bridge the gap between urban and rural communities.It helps to embark enterpreneurship among the rural women.
