==Bio==

On the surface, Shawn Catudal is an electrical engineering student at the University of St. Thomas. He goes to class like everyone else, spends his free time with friends, loves his family, and enjoys playing sports. Pretty average, right? Maybe not. Peeking below the surface, he is far from just average. Some things cannot be captured by paper and the objective. Shawn is driven by passion and purpose. Our potential on this planet is limitless, and Shawn lives by that philosophy. He believes that we can always do better, do more, and uncover what is still out there.

Shawn was born and raised in Berlin, Germany where he loved building with Legos and expressing his active mind with colored pencils. Moving to the California at age 7 was a struggle for the shy German boy with a heavy accent. He stood out like a sore thumb, but eventually settled into his own and embraced his uniqueness. Fast forward some time and Shawn has simply moved on to playing with more intricate building blocks and more detailed drawings and ideas.

Shawn would identify himself as an outgoing nerd. He loves all things technology, innovation, math and science. He finds the greatest joy in these subjects when he shares the experience with other like minded individuals. One of his greatest strengths is his creativity. It has helped him anywhere from winning innovation competitions to rebuilding his car from salvage parts.

2019 Earth Day Innovate-a-thon Grand Champion. Purpose was to create a business idea which aimed to reduce energy emission within our community.
