The spaces which exist on campus are difficult to reserve, unavailable to students, or under-advertised. As part of our four-pronged approach to alleviating this issue, we plan to extend commuter accessibility to the study lounges located in our upperclassmen dorms. This will allow all students to collaborate in and utilize our innovation space with ease, and without tenuous reservation.</big>

Students from different clubs can’t always make it to the meeting; the number of clubs you can attend is also limited due to scheduling issues. Unaware of all opportunities on campus, students tend to go back home to complete their work. Therefore, creating a Think Tank Creative Space would be beneficial to campus. This would provide students with the needed collaborative space. With a set location accessible to all undergraduate and graduate students, they would be able to attend creative workshops hosted by the UIF students and various club leaders. At the same time, club leaders would be trained to host workshops available for students in and outside of their clubs. This would allow them to reach a greater audience and raise awareness of their clubs.</big>

While prototyping "Living and Learning Lounges", our team found out that many students weren't aware of in-campus private study areas and lounges. Partially, this was a reason why students weren't taking advantage of the spaces... thus a strategic priority must be to promote these areas and the new ones that will be added through our UIF project. Moreover, the new spaces will have to be rebranded in order for them to be effectively reintroduced into the Fordham campus. Likewise, constant reminders should be set out to students through newsletters or Instagram stories in order to keep students aware of the spaces available to them.

We have devised four plans of action to grant their wish, starting with room design. One of the aspects that we think is important in creating a space that promotes innovation and entrepreneurship is the room’s design. The design of the room dictates how people feel in certain spaces. The first step that we would take to ensure that the room is designed appropriately would be to survey students on what they need in this room. After getting a general idea of what students want out of the space, we would plan small group tours to get a sense of student’s responses and opinions. After gathering this information we could make modifications. Another aspect of room design is the cost of materials and the feasibility of making the space functional. We have a plan to reallocate unused resources in other rooms of the school and put them to better use in the space we decide upon. This would decrease the cost of this project and increase the use of our school’s assets. To maintain a functional room design, we would continue to survey students each semester or year to reassess if our room is still meeting the needs of the current students.</big>

If we were able to host this event in the Spring Semester, we could really strike engaging dicussion with past alumni that students can connect with. If students have access to these insights, it can help them find their focus.</big>

It may be hard to initially reach out to alumni and create virtual programs with them, however, we can defintely put together a week series with different speakers from different industries.</big>

Engagement is at an all time low currently. Many people might think that this is because of Covid-19, however this low engagment started happening even before it. Attention span of the average human is decresing exponentially every year and school must adapt to that. </big>

It may be hard to set up the competition, but we can partner with professors and their departments to come up with engaging programs.</big>

We have devised four plans of action to grant their wish, starting with room design. One of the aspects that we think is important in creating a space that promotes innovation and entrepreneurship is the room’s design. The design of the room dictates how people feel in certain spaces. The first step that we would take to ensure that the room is designed appropriately would be to survey students on what they need in this room. After getting a general idea of what students want out of the space, we would plan small group tours to get a sense of student’s responses and opinions. After gathering this information we could make modifications. Another aspect of room design is the cost of materials and the feasibility of making the space functional. We have a plan to reallocate unused resources in other rooms of the school and put them to better use in the space we decide upon. This would decrease the cost of this project and increase the use of our school’s assets. To maintain a functional room design, we would continue to survey students each semester or year to reassess if our room is still meeting the needs of the current students.</big>

This would provide students with the needed collaborative space. With a set location accessible to all undergraduate and graduate students, they would be able to attend creative workshops hosted by the UIF students and various club leaders. At the same time, club leaders would be trained to host workshops available for students in and outside of their clubs. We have devised four plans of action to grant their wish, starting with room design. One of the aspects that we think is important in creating a space that promotes innovation and entrepreneurship is the room’s design. The design of the room dictates how people feel in certain spaces. The first step that we would take to ensure that the room is designed appropriately would be to survey students on what they need in this room. After getting a general idea of what students want out of the space, we would plan small group tours to get a sense of student’s responses and opinions. After gathering this information we could make modifications. Another aspect of room design is the cost of materials and the feasibility of making the space functional. We have a plan to reallocate unused resources in other rooms of the school and put them to better use in the space we decide upon. This would decrease the cost of this project and increase the use of our school’s assets. To maintain a functional room design, we would continue to survey students each semester or year to reassess if our room is still meeting the needs of the current students.</big>

We have devised four plans of action to grant their wish, starting with room design. One of the aspects that we think is important in creating a space that promotes innovation and entrepreneurship is the room’s design. The design of the room dictates how people feel in certain spaces. The first step that we would take to ensure that the room is designed appropriately would be to survey students on what they need in this room. After getting a general idea of what students want out of the space, we would plan small group tours to get a sense of student’s responses and opinions. After gathering this information we could make modifications. Another aspect of room design is the cost of materials and the feasibility of making the space functional. We have a plan to reallocate unused resources in other rooms of the school and put them to better use in the space we decide upon. This would decrease the cost of this project and increase the use of our school’s assets. To maintain a functional room design, we would continue to survey students each semester or year to reassess if our room is still meeting the needs of the current students.</big>

==Promoting Student Innovation & Entrepreneurship==
<div>Fordham promotes student innovation and entrepreneurship through formal programs and extracurricular activities. Fordham offers many different concentrations that deal with innovation and entrepreneurship, from sustainable business to social innovation concentration, enabling its students to explore and learn valuable skills. Fordham also offers classes that allow students to pursue innovation or entrepreneurship after college, such as “Launch Your Start-Up” and “Leadership and Change”. Fordham has also implemented a new "Social Innovation Cohort" into the Gabelli Consulting Cup Integrated Project curriculum. The University houses numerous extracurricular activities and innovation spaces that further allow students to expand their knowledge outside the classroom. The Fordham Foundry and Social Innovation Collaboratory are spaces and extracurricular offerings where like-minded individuals are able to help one another and work together. The Fordham Foundry provides competitive opportunities that give students a chance to win monetary prizes based on their businesses or business ideas, such as the Pitch Challenge. The Foundry also hosts many events in which students can connect with entrepreneurial mentors. Additionally, the Entrepreneurship Society and the Compass Fellowship are other extracurricular outlets for students to further their interests in innovation and entrepreneurship.</div><div> </div>

==Encouraging Faculty Innovation & Entrepreneurship==

Fordham has been named a “Changemaker Campus” by Ashoka, a global organization that honors universities for innovative efforts to foster social good and strengthen society. As a Jesuit institution, Fordham strongly believes in social innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as investing in the continuous development of their faculty and staff. Although Fordham has yet to pursue any policy changes to encourage more faculty entrepreneurship, the faculty lead by example, actively share their learnings and best practices, and participate in new advancing the field of social innovation and change making in higher education.

==Facilitating University-Industry Collaboration==

Fordham has The Office of Corporate and Foundations Relations which works with the President's council to establish strategic partnerships with corporations. They create mutually beneficial relationships between the University and corporations. Some examples of actions they’ve helped institute include: hosting CEO breakfasts, using relationships for student internships, guest lectures from business professionals, and more. The Fordham Foundry, Fordham’s hub for innovation and entrepreneurship, also works closely with numerous student and alumni-run start-up businesses. The Fordham Foundry provides great resources through its network and partnerships with NYC Business Solutions, BNP Paribas, and NASDAQ OMX Education Foundation to help, educate, and connect entrepreneurial students. The Student Alumni Office offers programs on ranging levels of commitment that aim to connect currently enrolled students to alumni mentors, these include Fordham Alumni Network, Alumni Directory, and Fordham Mentoring Program.

As the only Jesuit University in New York, Fordham is committed to the discovery of wisdom and the transmission of learning, through research and effort to help its surrounding community. Learn to have thick skin and you yourself back against a "no". When I was in skill I received initial pushback against the idea of implementing a gay/straight alliance, the school's headmaster said it was inappropriate but I stood my ground and continued with the vision regardless. I appealed to student boards and gathered a group of students who supported my cause.

I am a Sophomore at Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business in New York City. Into surfing, hiking, video games, and going out. I recently moved to NYC from Peru and am excited about my time here!
