<li>Ideators club enhances the interaction among seniors and juniors with creative thinking abilities of them. It aims at bringing out the entrepreneurial skills of a student. In order to make I&E more effective, introduction of a course that focuses on innovation, is essential.</li>
<li>Making students to design and implement innovative ideas</li>
<li>Fun with learning</li>
<li>Allotting faculty for guidance</li>
<li>As a part of course, various activities related to innovation, few workshops need to be implemented.</li>
<li>To make learning more interesting, students should be given more opportunities to share their ideas and knowledge.</li>
<li>It takes almost 3 to 4 months to complete the projects.</li>
<li>Students must form into groups of 4(maximum of 2 from each department) and select a mentor of their choice from each department. This makes the project inter-disciplinary.</li>
<li>In a week’s time, students start working out on their projects.</li>
<li>In order to make sure their projects are going on as per schedule, they have to send their progress monthly to faculty whom they opted as their mentor</li>
<li>If anyone wants to add extensions to their project and need financial support, they get ‘seed money’ of about $1600</li>
<li>They have to wait for one month to get the requested seed money K. Chokkanathan, I&E cell coordinator takes care of these. This request process is done in the month of March.</li>

== OFFERING VARIOUS COURSES RELATED TO LATEST TECHNOLOGIES FOR ALL THE STUDENTS IN THE COLLEGE ==

<li>This could possibly be a program of classes that will take place during both the student's second and third year in order to make sure that the student is ready to tackle the final projects before graduating and heading out into the workforce.</li>
<li>Getting updated with latest technologies</li>
<li>Encouraging students for active participation</li>
<li>Maximum of  200 students shall be taken in for the club during the semester. Every semester this club offers new registrations</li>
<li>Since there are students from different branches, we planned to have the classes during 3 - 4 ,where at least students from few branches have a free period.</li>
<li>Conducting guest lectures and weekend classes on latest technologies</li>

<li>We can continuously monitoring the students using surveillance cameras</li>
<li>Every equipment  and all cameras are connected to cloud through an electronic circuit</li>
<li>If any lab equipment was damaged or any burglar entered, a notification will send to the incharge.</li>
<li>We can punish the burglars and intruders by detecting through automation and we can reduce the theftings</li>
<li>If any equipment is damaging,a notification is send to in charge</li>
<li>Allotting learning dorms for students</li>
<li>Providing e-resources for students</li>

Velagapudi Ramakrishna Siddhartha Engineering College (VRSEC) Vijayawada was established in 1977 as the first private self financing engineering college in the state of united Andhra Pradesh. At present the college is offering seven UG programs with an intake of 1140, Nine PG programs in addition to MBA and MCA Courses making the total intake 1458.It has the Conferment of Autonomous Status by University Grants Commission in 2006, and extended up to 2012-18,  one of the foremost institution in the region to be conferred Autonomous.

It was Accredited by NAAC with A grade  for a period of five years  with a CGPA of 3.17 on four point scale effective from 25-10-2013 and with NBA Accreditation status to all UG programmes since 1998.

The graduate and undergraduate programs  integrate classroom education with best business practices, technology, and real-world experience. Furthermore, the college aspires to combine the best qualities of teaching and research to actively engage students, faculty and staff to work in close collaboration to expand knowledge.

== Student Entrepreneurship ==

The college has many resources,tools available on campus that act as catalyst to improve Innovation and Entrepreneurship among students of different branches. We can always find the encouragement towards innovation in the campus. If the student is coming up with a great idea and if he/she has the ability to achieve what they thought then campus would definitely provide fund for their research and development. We get funding for research and development from #Internal Funding by Academy - Annually Rs. 5.0 lakhs is allocated. #Funding by alumni - Rs. 10 lakhs is available annually under this head #Funding by outside agencies - DRDO, ISRO, DST, AICTE, UGC give grants based on the projects submitted. Currently about 1.25 Cr worth projects are under process. Every Department has created R&D centres for perusing research and development which are operational actively. If a student starts research and development then definitely he/she is the coming up entrepreneur in future because practical knowledge always shows the person different from all others. V R Siddhartha Engineering encourages students to become entrepreneurs. Recently one of friend in our class has started a start-up which is complete apart from academics our department and our college has encouraged him to become an entrepreneur.  To nurture the entrepreneurial,creative and innovation skills of the students ,various workshops,competitions,technical fests,talks,different clubs,incubation centers have been setup where students get inspired to become a social entrepreneur 

== Faculty Innovation and Entrepreneurship ==

  To encourage Faculty to undertake research activities and commercialize their research into an innovation or entrepreneurial activity, various research centres have been established in various branches of VRSEC. The research centres that are aimed at improving innovation among thefaculty has following benefits :

* To enhance the awareness about research and innovation amongst the faculty as well as students through events like workshops, symposia and guest lectures on research methodology , innovation, patents etc.

*To encourage faculty member to get involved in R&D activities and further commercialize their ideas into a startup venture.

* To encourage/facilitate the faculty as well as students to publish papers in leading journals/ conferences.

* To create awareness and encourage/facilitate faculty as well as students to apply and work on funded research projects sponsored by IETE,APSSDC,INDIAN GOVERNMENT etc.The funding helps the Faculty to undertake their research and further commercialize it in association with the companies that have funded the project or partnership with other organizations

* To encourage/ facilitate the faculty as well as students to work on Industry based live projects that will help them to tie up with the concerned industry and develop entrepreneurial mindset with such projects.

  Every year, different branches of VRSEC conducts faculty training programs to train their teaching, technical, innovation and entrepreneurial skills

== University Technology Transfer Function ==

 The college thought that it would be beneficial if the corporate ethos is understood in order that the curriculum can be planned in such a manner that the products would be industry ready.So the college has close tie ups with TCS, Tech Mahindra, IBM, Oracle and many more. IBM and Oracle established some labs in the college that makes the students to get industry experience. Currently the transfer policy is on paper which may be implemented within a year.

Relevant curriculum offered with the support of industry, MOU between Department of Civil Engineering, VRSEC &  Andhra Pradesh Medical Services and Infrastructure Development in presence of Honourable Chief Minister''' ''''''N Chandrababu Naidu''', AP Govt. and '''Sri K.Srinivas''', Minister for Health and Medical Education, AP. The students also form consulting teams and work like apprentices, closely supervised by a select group of experienced faculty experts.

The Alumini of the college have been making their strong presence felt at a host of high rated organizations like NASA, Caterpiller, IBM, Infosys, Wipro, TCS, Accenture, Polaris etc.In addition to displaying their acumen in their chosen fields of activity, VRSEC old Students Association, a Regd. Society, has donated Rs. 1 crore towards awarding Siddhartha Sahaya Scholarships to the needy and deserving students. The said Scholarships have been granted in association with Siddhartha Academy.

== Regional and Local Economic Development ==

The Alumni of VRSEC and Siddhartha Academy of General & Technical Education, Vijayawada are providing scholarships to the academically bright and needy students of VRSEC.The grants in the form of R&D projects awarded by the UGC, AICTE, DST, ISRO, DRDO amount to Rs. Rs.260.21 lakhs during the last 4 Years.Renowned DST Sponsored TIFAC – CORE project in Telematics, first private engineering college in the state to secure TIFAC.The goal is promote financial literacy amongst high school students

The R.V.R. & J.C. College of Engineering, Chowdavaram, Guntur trains undergraduate and postgraduate students in Engineering and Management for award of degree from Acharya Nagarjuna University.

Established by the renowned Nagarjuna Education Society (1967) in the year 1985, the College drew its initial impetus from Peoples Representatives, local doctors, charitable trusts and commercial houses of Guntur District,Andhra Pradesh.  Today, it enjoys flagship status among the eight constituent institutions, that are governed by Nagarjuna Education Society.  The founder-members of Nagarjuna Education Society and their successors have provided abundant inputs to turn a mere 3-course-180-intake College into a 14-course-1200-intake edifice by the Silver Jubilee Year.

Training the students beyond the defined borders of the curriculum is a basic emphasis, the college dearly practices.  The College practices the modesty of looking for new starting lines than be content with the finishing lines reached.  The Mission Statement proposed by our Management and staff accommodates the new paradigm – “Education for total transformation” with a commitment for excellence in all that we do.  The keywords “professional knowledge and skills”, “honourable living” and “social and economic contribution” speak of the strategy of the college in training people. We admit, we have miles and miles to go before we complete our mission.

== PROMOTING STUDENT ENTREPRENEURSHIP ==

The culture of our institution is a shared system of values, beliefs and attitudes that shapes and enhances our behaviour. The primary focus is not only to educate the students but to inspire them to become innovative and contribute to the society.

Our institution has Entrepreneurship Management Development Cell (EMDC) which was set-up with the assistance of A.I.C.T.E., New Delhi, to promote and educate young students to take the benefit of the policies of the government by establishing their own ventures. The cell organizes different activities and events to inculcate Entrepreneurial Spirit among the Science & Technology students.

The mission is to promote entrepreneurship-led innovation, thereby creating "nation of entrepreneurs" driven by creativity, initiative, risk taking, discipline, and personal development.

== FACULTY INNOVATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP ==

The faculty inspire us and direct all we do academically and deliver the administrative services. They enhance the students to move on the innovation path. A Committee of Research and Development  (R & D) Cell was formed on 7 June 2012  to motivate and provide necessary guidance to all the faculty members. It is organised by certain selected faculty members of our institution. It motivates faculty to pursue their research activities and helps to publish the research papers in reputed Peer Reviewed Journals of at least 10 years standing. The college has many resources,tools available on campus that act as catalyst to improve Innovation and Entrepreneurship among students of different branches. We can always find the encouragement towards innovation in the campus. If the student is coming up with a great idea and if he/she has the ability to achieve what they thought then campus would definitely provide fund for their research and development. We get funding for research and development from #Internal Funding by Academy - Annually Rs. 5.0 lakhs is allocated. #Funding by alumni - Rs. 10 lakhs is available annually under this head #Funding by outside agencies - DRDO, ISRO, DST, AICTE, UGC give grants based on the projects submitted. Currently about 1.25 Cr worth projects are under process. Every Department has created R&D centres for perusing research and development which are operational actively. If a student starts research and development then definitely he/she is the coming up entrepreneur in future because practical knowledge always shows the person different from all others. V R Siddhartha Engineering encourages students to become entrepreneurs. Recently one of friend in our class has started a start-up which is complete apart from academics our department and our college has encouraged him to become an entrepreneur.  To nurture the entrepreneurial,creative and innovation skills of the students ,various workshops,competitions,technical fests,talks,different clubs,incubation centers have been setup where students get inspired to become a social entrepreneur

  To encourage Faculty to undertake research activities and commercialize their research into an innovation or entrepreneurial activity, various research centres have been established in various branches of VRSEC. The research centres that are aimed at improving innovation among thefaculty has following benefits :

* To enhance the awareness about research and innovation amongst the faculty as well as students through events like workshops, symposia and guest lectures on research methodology , innovation, patents etc.

*To encourage faculty member to get involved in R&D activities and further commercialize their ideas into a startup venture.

* To encourage/facilitate the faculty as well as students to publish papers in leading journals/ conferences.

* To create awareness and encourage/facilitate faculty as well as students to apply and work on funded research projects sponsored by IETE,APSSDC,INDIAN GOVERNMENT etc.The funding helps the Faculty to undertake their research and further commercialize it in association with the companies that have funded the project or partnership with other organizations

* To encourage/ facilitate the faculty as well as students to work on Industry based live projects that will help them to tie up with the concerned industry and develop entrepreneurial mindset with such projects.

== University Technology Transfer Function ==

 The college thought that it would be beneficial if the corporate ethos is understood in order that the curriculum can be planned in such a manner that the products would be industry ready.So the college has close tie ups with TCS, Tech Mahindra, IBM, Oracle and many more. IBM and Oracle established some labs in the college that makes the students to get industry experience. Currently the transfer policy is on paper which may be implemented within a year.

We can always find the encouragement towards innovation in the campus. If the student is coming up with a great idea and if he/she has the ability to achieve what they thought then campus would definitely provide fund for their research and development. We get funding for research and development from #Internal Funding by Academy - Annually Rs. 5.0 lakhs is allocated. #Funding by alumni - Rs. 10 lakhs is available annually under this head #Funding by outside agencies - DRDO, ISRO, DST, AICTE, UGC give grants based on the projects submitted. Currently about 1.25 Cr worth projects are under process. Every Department has created R&D centres for perusing research and development which are operational actively. If a student starts research and development then definitely he/she is the coming up entrepreneur in future because practical knowledge always shows the person different from all others. V R Siddhartha Engineering encourages students to become entrepreneurs. a) Reach out as early as possible to individuals you respect and aspire to be like.  The earlier you reach out the more time these relationships have to grow and develop.  Mentorships can often form, giving you support and guidance when brainstorming, planning, and launching your start-ups.  These connections can also be extremely useful when trying to secure a business incubator.  Connecting with a business incubator or accelerator through a mutually known individual can create a friendlier initial interaction and increase your chances of being selected. Either way, never be afraid to ask someone to coffee, ask for help, or to update someone on your process.

b) The University Innovation Fellows network is one of the greatest tools available to us.  Once we are accepted into the program we will connect and form relationships with some of the most engaged and creative young minds around the country.  When Elliot traveled to Cork, Ireland with Indiebio to quick start Spira he took two other fellows with him as team members.  Allow UIF to open your horizons to different individuals and ways of thinking, and truly use the community to its full potential.

Do a small task with them whether it be a little engineering project, a small part of something to do with the startup, or just going and playing video games together to see how they work with you, and to predict what future interactions will be like. The most common reason why startups fail is because of issues with the people working for them.  Therefore choose your teammates wisely and make sure they have similar goals in mind.

--This can become tricky when money and financial aspects come into play. It is essential to have team members sign an agreement, and all be on the same page, before the business or product takes off.

== Risk and Reward (cost, equity, money, time vs payoff, networks, funding, prototyping material, experience) ==

a) Technically, it will not cost you money to reach out to businesses in hopes they could be your incubator. However, in order for them to be swayed to accept, sometimes there is money involved. “Give before you receive” is a phrase Elliot stood by, and it basically means to find what that business wants or needs, and make an offer to help them get these things in hopes that this gesture will make them want to give to you in return. This could be as simple as designing something for them with your own resources, or as extensive as flying them out to run a 5K in your state (yes, Elliot did offer to do that). However, this money will be nothing compared to the experience you gain, and hopefully the profit you make from starting up your company.
<div>b) Timewise, this might take a while. It could take weeks to months before convincing a company that your product is worth the investment. Elliot aimed for 3 main incubators and accelerators when working on his company Spira. Once securing an incubator the process of invention and testing begins almost immediately. Once you are in an accelerator program, all day everyday is spent on the product. There is a lot of time put into this, but it is worth it once you find the right incubator for your business.</div><div> </div>
== Support (students, faculty, staff needed to facilitate prior to and during the event) ==

Support is so important when developing a new business or idea. Something that Elliot struggled with was the lack of support from the faculty at his university. He had to combat this with support from his friends and his motivation to get things done. In one situation he was trying to make a product with a fellow student and it didn’t work out because the support between the student and Elliot was not there. Overall, to have a successful event you need the support of students, faculty, and staff. 

== Lessons learned and tips for others (what worked and what didn’t, and your recommendations for others) ==

a) The innovators and entrepreneurs who are making changes in the world are constantly asking questions.  They identify problems or areas that need improvement, ask themselves why they are the way that they are, and brainstorm a way to improve.  Therefore, a key piece of advice is to be curious. Look at the world around you as it truly is and ask questions.  Don’t settle for the status quo - instead challenge it to be better.

b) Failure is not a setback but should, instead, be seen as an opportunity.  From failure you find out what works and what areas need improvement. You learn about yourself and your company and are able to grow from these problems.

c) Never view rejection as a negative. If you believe in your product and company, and believe that it is the right thing to do, then continue with as much, if not more, momentum than before. Rejection is inevitable.  However, rejection should also teach you that when given an opportunity you cannot waste it.  Use that opportunity to its maximum and execute.  Prove to the people that saw potential that they were not wrong to have faith in your product.  Illustrate that the team is passionate and has the work ethic to succeed.
