Connect students with local tech companies in Santa Monica! The school should be engaging with local partners to bring more visibility to the startup and tech companies in the community. The Santa Monica Innovation Hub and StartupStarter are hosting the SM Innovation Hub that will showcase the various startups, accelerators and businesses for a day long showcase. There's an opportunity to bridge this event and host a smaller scale event at the college that targets students from all fields. Bringing visibility to opportunities can help motivate students to pursue a career in Santa Monica.

*Survey students from professors’ classes when and where is best to hold the mixer
*Connect with various school clubs to share the idea and ask them to share with club members

SMC student center for co-design that will serve as a subsidiary of the SMC center for media and design. The community space will encourage students to engage in student-led workshops, consultations from IxD student leaders on solving greater problems faced by SMC students, and co-designing with the community. Our mission will focus on a human-centered approach for designing for the interdisciplinary and diverse student community at SMC to co-design with current IxD cohorts.

Hi! My name is Antonio, but I prefer to go by Tony. I specialize in design, video production and editing, photography, and project management. I am currently studying Interaction Design at Santa Monica College after years of studying graphic design and honing my skills.

What has always motivated me to pursue a career in the creative field was the need to create something unique that shares the stories of others. Whether it was to recap an event or to sell a service, I usually dive into projects trying to figure out what is special about the person or organization that believes in my abilities. This is why I want to learn more about design. I want to strengthen my abilities as a story teller and find new ways to tell stories that can help shape the world for the better.

I am an ambitious and results-oriented individual with a strong work ethic which allows me to follow through on my commitments. I am also able to maintain my composure under pressure and think quickly on my feet. My organizational, communication, and technical skills have been honed over the years, and these skills have prepared me well for a career in digital arts where I can use my creativity and expertise to produce high-quality work.

I’m so lucky to have built a loving family in the city that I call home. My wife and I have two amazing kids, an anxious/sweet dog, and a cute kitten. We’ve created a home filled with love and happiness. I want to show my family how important it is to live a creative life while making a postive impact in our community.

Before I decided to pursue my education full time, I was a project coordinator for the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce and I also conducted a lot of freelance work in videography and photography.

What has always motivated to pursue a career in the creative field was the need to create something unique that shares the stories of others. Whether it was to recap an event or to sell a service, I usually dive into projects trying to figure out what is special about the person or organization that believes in my abilities.
