Rachel Merrill

Rachel Merrill is a University Innovation Fellow and a current student at Brigham Young University. She is a Junior in the Experience Design and Management program. Rachel's passion to provide transformational experiences for others drives her to be a changemaker. Rachel seeks to have a positive impact on her family life, school life, and work life. At Brigham Young University, Rachel is involved in the Experience Design and Management Club. She also enjoys her current work as a Student Supervisor in the Registrars Office.

Interests

Rachel loves to be involved in a variety of activities. She loves hiking, reading books, and listening to music. Rachel is also known for her genuine love for people. Unafraid to talk to strangers, Rachel is one who is always making new friends. Ever since she was a young girl, Rachel has always looked for opportunities to be involved in promoting positive change.

In middle school, Rachel took the opportunity to co-lead a three-year group project that provided humanitarian effort to citizens of Haiti. Working with the organization, Healing Hands for Haiti, Rachel created fundraiser events and marketing videos for her school to fundraise needed supplies for those great need. As a teenager, she participated in a HEFY program, traveling to Tonga to aid in humanitarian efforts. Rachel has also dedicated one-and-a-half years to religious service in Northern Japan. In Japan, amidst her religious service, Rachel volunteered as a weekly English teacher for families. Looking toward the future, Rachel hopes to continue traveling around the globe engaging in projects that will benefit the communities she visits.

Rachel has always loved to be creative and make good things happen. She hopes to pursue a career in business that will allow her to use her passion for creativity and social innovation to make the world a better place.
